You missed Heebner's name. He has actively traded it in 2012 and held a 7% (albeit small in the totality of things) position as of last quarterly.

I know it may longer be there, but Ken Heebner has actively traded it last year and had a 7% holding last quarter.

It will be interesting to see how CGMFX closes today, and when he is interviewed again if he has any worthy quotes about it.

He seems to have outperformed the SPX from a recent low on Dec. 28th.

HLF low was on Dec. 24th.

Just by changing the word "and" to either "whom" or "that" makes better sense to me.
Now if the client was seated in a more formal office with a big desk and fine furnishings, he could be one of the 0.01% ers who are talking with their hedge fund manager about controlling and influence.

The whole cartoon reeks of gaining implied control and a desire to become an influencer, but the caption does not match the wording. He is by proxy telling his broker or fiduciary to use leverage and or take unnecessary risk, although we would need a few more frames to make that deduction.
Good fun nonetheless.

I live about 20 miles from Newtown and know it well. What makes this especially emotional for me is that my wife is a teacher and I am an ex-policeman and Air Force veteran.
On one thing I am certain, we will cause change to come through betterment, serving children by volunteering our time and showing them by example that good Americans are positive, complementary lift spirits and lead by example.
We will continue to do what we've always done.

That's a constructive quote, and something some of the other "young guns" don't care to do.
I read his Path to Prosperity piece this morning, much of it is Doublespeak.
Romney/Ryan and their self made Ayn Rand ideals are agreeable in theory but Ryan collected his Dad's social security payments even though he didn't need it. I
A Republican victory in November can be summed up in four little words my Italian father in law used to say:
No work, no eat.

This has been Ken Heebner's cyclical stock thesis, but he's been as wrong as can be the past 4 years or so. He is of the belief that housing will lead the recovery and that interest rates will start to go up.

Nice writing, I really enjoyed the British dialogue.
Dr. Andrew Lo talks a lot about adaptive markets. His fund has not done that well, but that's another story.
Maybe the VAR models and Monte Carlo simulations cannot avoid meltdowns because of wrong (daily or monthly?) time frames. Tail risk and ghosts of LTCM anyone?

Fund managers rarely seasonalize, they just have to adjust to flow rates.
