I don't know if he refused, he just couldn't get it off the ground (there was an OPUS movie in the works for years). You may be thinking of Bill Watterson there, he's definitely refused any sort of CALVIN AND HOBBES adaptation.

I'd love to see a BLOOM COUNTY movie. But they should set it in the mid-1980s, to fully capture the feel of the comic strip in its prime.

I never said Obama is their "major friend," but I got the idea from their platforms and everything they've ever said and done!

And Romney's not out to get the MIDDLE CLASS, he's out to get everyone who isn't RICH. He'll raise their overall taxes and he'll cripple or eliminate their safety nets. It's right there in his plan, plain as day. Don't need to watch a leaked "quiet room" video of him to know that.

And that article you linked is bullshit, because it will only LOWER taxpayer expense for healthcare of the uninsured. Even Mitt Romney himself admits that the poor are now taking advantage of emergency room care and that they can't be turned away, leaving taxpayers to foot the incredibly expensive ER bill. Even a LITTLE bit of preventative medicine will lower those expensive ER visits significantly, saving taxpayers billions.

It's OBAMA who wants to go back to the way things were in your lifetime, in the '90s when Clinton was president. When the ultra-rich paid a slightly higher tax rate, millions of new jobs (public and private) were created, and the economy was booming.

Unless you're pushing 100, Romney doesn't want to take us back to a time YOU'VE lived through. He and Ryan's ultimate goal is to push us back to the very early 20th century, when senior citizens regularly lived off cat food and died penniless. They want to get rid of Social Security and Medicare and all the safety nets we've taken for granted over the past half-century. Of course, they won't say that outright (except in certain "quiet rooms"), which is why they constantly say that Medicare won't change (TOO much) for "current seniors." Only because they require the VOTES of those "current seniors."

If you like the elimination of key social programs combined with the biggest tax cut for billionaires in history (and a big tax INCREASE for the middle class), then you should definitely vote Romney/Ryan.
