Hikerwoman and I just got back from an "ice-fishing" expedition. Hope we're not to late with our goodbye's and best wishes. It was great meeting you at the Orange County Captains Quarters luncheon a few years back. You managed to make CQ personal, by sharing with us some of your personal quests, as well as the trials and challenges that faced you each morning upon awakening. I have never met Marcia, however I feel as if I know her. That's the magic of your writings, a portion of the gift that Michelle has recognized and rewarded.

Your faith was never pushed, shoveled, or peddled; your faith and values were highly visible though, on display for all...

I might add this story...

In 1994, I was about to fire an employee for mis-representing his qualifications. The employee caught wind of this, and quit rather than getting fired. A few weeks later, I received a complaint from the Employee Development Dept. of California, stating that I had worked this man 9-10 hours a day and only paid him for 8. An audit followed, which resulted in no evidence to support the man's claims. This was followed by an audit of additional years, resulting in no evidence to support the claim. Long story shorter; it cost me 80K to defend my company in legal fee's (lawyer & accountant). It cost the employee who brought about the audit (who lied on his application and presented falsified documents) NOTHING

Exactly right quickjustice... Same thing is going on in parts of our own country. During the 80's, I employed up to (55) people at my business in California; by the time the mid 90's rolled around, the rules had changed to the point where overhead expenses coupled with the "risk" factor of having employees had risen to the point where I had to cut back to the (12) most reliable & trustworthy of the batch, and let the rest go. I went from (55) employees to (12) employees in less than (6) months time; went from several million in annual business to around (1) million in annual business, but yet made more income due to the reduction in overhead coupled with a huge reduction in legal expenses.

Liberalism is what's killing the business climate in California. Liberalism-Socialism is what continues to kill the business climate in Europe.

UN Report Blames Israel for Palestinian Terrorism

Palestinian terrorist attacks against Israel is the result of Israeli occupation, so says a UN Report:

GENEVA - A report commissioned by the United Nations says Palestinian terrorism is the inevitable result of Israeli occupation, an assertion that Israel rejected yesterday as inflammatory.

The report, posted on the UN Human Rights Council’s website, says that while Palestinian terrorist acts are deplorable, “they must be understood as being a painful but inevitable consequence of colonialism, apartheid, or occupation.”

The report accuses the Jewish state of acts and policies consistent with all three.

As long as there is occupation, there will be terrorism, says the author, John Dugard, an independent investigator on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and a South African lawyer who campaigned against apartheid in the 1980s.

I’m sure that this was a fair and balanced report by an unbiased investigator:

Israel’s UN ambassador in Geneva rejected Dugard’s analysis and questioned his objectivity.

“Dugard will better serve the cause of peace by ceasing to inflame the hatred between Israelis and Palestinians, who have embarked on serious talks to solve this contentious situation,” Itzhak Levanon said.

The 25-page report will be presented next month to the 47-nation rights council, which has been criticized - even by its founder, former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan - for spending most of its time reproaching Israel over alleged abuses.

Dugard was appointed in 2001 as an unpaid analyst to investigate only violations by the Israeli side, prompting Israel and the United States to dismiss his reports as one-sided.

Oh, I guess not !! What are the solutions proposed by this report:

Dugard says in the report that “common sense . . . dictates that a distinction must be drawn between acts of mindless terror, such as acts committed by Al Qaeda, and acts committed in the course of a war of national liberation against colonialism, apartheid, or military occupation.”

The report calls for Israeli occupation to end, citing the country’s checkpoints and roadblocks restricting Palestinian movement, house demolitions, and the “Judaization” of Jerusalem.

Oh, so this terrorism is “good” according to the report; as if blowing up kids, buses, wedding receptions, disco’s and pizzeria’s can ever be justified as anything else other than terrorism.

Substitute the hatred described above in the ME region with the racial hatred between races here in the USA, and the article seems relevant. Pimps such as Jackson (entire DNC) must keep the racial hatred alive and well here in America if they are to keep the black vote from thinking independently. When I look at the coverage of Katrina, coupled with the DNC talking points injected into the public view within hours of the disaster, I see just how alive this agenda remains today. Race bating was the agenda at the expense of the American people (of all races).

Jesse Jackson is (and always has been) nothing other than a pimp, as well as an embarrassment to black America. A simple look at his accomplishments tells the story. This man is a pure racist, and has fought hard to keep racial hatred alive and well. Jackson and Sharpton (Justice Brothers) have pimped for the Democrat Party in order to have their own personal seat at the table. Black America has much to be proud of; these two do not deserve to be in that equation.

Through the years, the evidence has been piling up on the NYT. Then came the elections of 2000 and the evidence went into hyper-drive; then came the attacks of 9/11, and the evidence has been overwhelming to the point where this statement can be made "The Times, under the management of Bill Keller and especially Arthur "Pinch" Sulzberger, has reduced what had been the nation's premiere newspaper to the credibility of a supermarket tabloid."

Selling out top secret American military operations was a huge piece of evidence...

McCain (whom I can't stand) will win this election by a comfortable margin. The hopeful Liberals that continue to infest these waters, are in for a real disappointment regarding the WH; but they should keep control of both houses.

I think a man/woman in the mold of a Duncan Hunter would go a long ways towards uniting the Conservative base. I doubt that McCain will be smart enough to go that route, more likely to go with a geek such as Lindsey Graham. Truth is, McCain can win this election even with an absolute empty suit such as Graham.

What pathetic choices are in front of us! An old school blue dog over the hill Republican-Moderate, or a radical left wing anti-anything American tax loving power hungry sex-drugs-rock-n-roll socialist loving Liberal.

Snow cover over North America and much of Siberia, Mongolia and China is greater than at any time since 1966.

The U.S. National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) reported that many American cities and towns suffered record cold temperatures in January and early February. According to the NCDC, the average temperature in January “was -0.3 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average.”

China is surviving its most brutal winter in a century. Temperatures in the normally balmy south were so low for so long that some middle-sized cities went days and even weeks without electricity because once power lines had toppled it was too cold or too icy to repair them.

There have been so many snow and ice storms in Ontario and Quebec in the past two months that the real estate market has felt the pinch as home buyers have stayed home rather than venturing out looking for new houses.

In just the first two weeks of February, Toronto received 70 cm of snow, smashing the record of 66.6 cm for the entire month set back in the pre-SUV, pre-Kyoto, pre-carbon footprint days of 1950.

And remember the Arctic Sea ice? The ice we were told so hysterically last fall had melted to its “lowest levels on record? Never mind that those records only date back as far as 1972 and that there is anthropological and geological evidence of much greater melts in the past.

The ice is back.

Gilles Langis, a senior forecaster with the Canadian Ice Service in Ottawa, says the Arctic winter has been so severe the ice has not only recovered, it is actually 10 to 20 cm thicker in many places than at this time last year.

I might add this; as we see here at CQ daily, Liberals & a large portion of those who prefer to be identified as Democrats, are guilty of defending deplorable behavior from within their own ranks. The rest of America (including most moderates and independents) demand the removal of such people from a position of authority, as a crime is a crime and must be punishable.

Democrats and Liberals are on the verge (already are with millions) of being considered morally bankrupt, and this dynamic continues them on this path.

Bingo... It's not a question of unethical behavior on both sides of the isle, it's a question of holding one responsible for one's behavior; accountability.. Republicans have a decent track record of taking the appropriate actions necessary when one of their own throws principles down the toilet for personal gain.. On the other hand, Democrats have a track record of "circling the wagon" when one of their own gets busted. The Democrats have used the media brilliantly through the years, to provide cover and deflect the spot light off their own. The William Jefferson story will not go away for the Dems; the new media will keep this story alive for as long as it takes to bring justice to this man for his criminal behavior.

No man/woman can be above the law, doesn't matter which way the person leans politically.

I listened to the Dem debate on my way home last night (in part). I'm shocked at what a really bad politician Hillary is. This woman is losing to an absolute rookie empty suit for good reason; she is a really awful candidate. Talk about a myth, an absolute creation of the media, this woman was billed as "the smartest woman alive"... Wow, that is an absolute baseless attack against the female race. My wife has more smarts than Hillary in either of her middle fingers alone.

Fox News is a step up from the Communist News Network and all other arms of the DNC; that remains a fact today. However, Fox News is 18% owned by the Saudi's and has been pushing a Globalist agenda for quite some time now. I watch a few shows on Fox; the Factor and Hannity & Colmes are pretty much is for me. Remember, this is the same network that employees such losers as Geraldo and Juan.

To be fare, I also enjoy Gibson and the Ollie North show on occasion.

Talk Radio continues to be my choice for information and entertainment. Rush Limbaugh, BillO'reilly, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck are my own personal choices here in my adopted state of Montana. A few shows I used to listen to are not available to me here, such as Hugh Hewitt.

Ignorant refusal to face the facts! Quite a mouthful epicene... Of coarse, you don't come here with facts, nor do you include facts in your bullshit claim. When you fools do come here with facts, we actually get to have a decent discussion; 99% of the time, you Libs come here with talking points and a tin cap, nothing more.....
