You have to go back that far because that's how long we've had vaccines for many of these diseases. Proof of their effectiveness that you rarely hear about outbreaks now and we've all forgotten how they work on a population with marginal herd immunity. Victims of their own success.

Yeah, the first time was far more serious, so it was pretty obvious what he had going on, and one of his classmates had just gotten sick with it as well. So the transmission path was obvious.

The second time it was much milder. We assumed strep or flu at first but he tested negative for both, it was only then that we retested for COVID. He tested positive, but we assumed it was just leftover traces from the first time causing a false positive.....until my other son and wife both got it 3 days later.

And yeah, it's rare. I agree. But so is getting it after you've been vaccinated. Why are people only considering the former, but not the latter?

My son got COVID and then got it again a month and a half later, so natural immunity isn't solid either.

Actually "Fully approved" and "approved for emergency use" are two different classifications.

That said, the anti-vaxxers that are objecting are nuts. It's been given to literally MILLIONS of people just in Minnesota. If there were serious side-effects we would have seen them, and by this point we have data going back over a year on the effects of this vaccine.

I understand that anti-vaxxers don't want to be a lab rat, but they can at least be smarter than one.

Actually that study only studied their viral load, and determined it was the same as adults. It did NOT study their ability to spread it. And indeed as others have pointed out real world data from around the world certainly suggests they don't spread it as much as adults do.
