Fortunately, there is now a site that will let you import your contacts directly from Facebook into Google+ and/or gmail. You can find it here: http://friendstogmail.com
I hope that that will make it easier for you.

Re: Reddit on the go

Actually both Twitter and YouTube are on the rise.

Re: Unlimited traffic from one way backlinks after Panda

Ranking for 1 keyword is not going to do it. That is the bad news. The good news is that you don't need to be focusing on SEO so much. Focus on writing good content. If you add value you will get noticed and the rankings will come. What I would recommend is that you send out a tweet when you post new content and also that you communicate new content through Facebook. These activities are very easy to do and create backlinks every time. This has always worked and it has gotten even better with all the latest Google updates.
As far as keyword research goes, I do think that the Google keyword tool is a good one to use. Just don't expect that all the traffic that they report will go to your site. You will get the most traffic (upto 80%) if you rank in the #1 spot (not just page 1). And it is very hard to control that 1 spot. That is why you need to diversify. And since it sounds like you are writing content for your site, you should be able to rank well for several long tail keywords. This will gradually increase the traffic to your site.
One other quick tip: if you are writing your posts in WordPress, make sure to change the permalink of each post to the keyword that you want to rank for, rather than the title of the post.

Re: 7 Facebook promotion strategies

Hi Jpohn,
What prompts this harsh comment? As I mention in the post you should still optimize your content and create back links. You are just better off creating them naturally. Or use SeNukeX (that is what I use, because this is a software that builds the links over time for you and is therefor natural in essence).
I do believe that if you put in a lot of SEO work/money to get more traffic to your site that there are easier ways to achieve your goal. I have used social media very effectively to attract traffic to my sites.

Re: Change the Way You Do SEO Forever (the Rules Just Changed)

Yes, I agree. Google finally seems to be confident enough that they can evaluate websites from a human perspective. But we should not forget that they have been working on this for many many years. They have come closer with every step. We will have to wait and see how close they really are, but I personally am happy that Google is making progress. The more we can rule out the junk the better :)

Re: Get a better insight into the key metrics of your website

I do have a Pinterest account, but have not done much with it. It is definitely popular though, because there are close to 100 people following me, without me doing anything besides posting a few pictures. I have not seen any traffic from it so far.

Re: Dave Gallant: 5 Lessons Learned from a "Please Hire Me" Blog Post to Radian6

Great post. I would never have guessed that Father's Day would be that high on the holidays list. But then, I only found out in 2010 how to use Twitter meaningful. They will impact the search engine rankings the most. That does not mean that two-way links are useless. As I pointed out in the post, two-way links also serve a purpose. So, don't dismiss them. Just use your knowledge to build the authority of your site.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Karin.

Re: Social Media Marketing or Social Networking?

Very well put Rod. I completely understand the time commitment issue. One of the reasons I feel I made the right decision in leaving TSA.
I have since found some alternatives that work better for me. They help me build my social media presence which is more important to me at this point. I am sure you will read about it in one of my future posts.

Re: How many one-way backlinks does it take to reach the top position in Google?

I am glad you liked it.
