It is out-of-state transport. We are a small "hub" transport in Oklahoma. The Peaceful Animal Adoption Shelter (PAAS Vinita) has a partnership with Dumb Friends League in Colorado. Since 2016, 4,600+ homeless Oklahoma dogs have found a new home in Colorado. Bringing awareness to transport helps all of us.

Re: Transporting to the future

In the PAAS program, there are no "fees" involved as it relates to rescuing/pulling an animal. Each of our 20+ Oklahoma partners follow guidelines estabished by our Colorado (receiving) partner to ensure healthy, vaccinated dogs (and sometimes cats) get to go on the PAAS Ride to Rescue. In Oklahoma, the bottom line for survival in rescue is $$$$. $$$ for medicine, $$$$ for personnel and $$$ for transport. When you have the $$$, amazing things happen. 2,100+ dogs (and a few cats) have made the trip to our Colorado partners in the last 18 months.

Re: Transporting to the future

Programs like this saved PAAS. We were designed as an adoption shelter in a rural, economically deprived area. Without transport, spay/neuter grants and HSUS Pets for Life we would be closed. Instead we've transferred 2,000 dogs to Dumb Friends League, received spay/neuter grants and changing the culture for pet ownership with pets for life. I'm a believer

Re: On-Demand Business TV for the “C-Suite”

On demand is changing how we view programming, gather information and choose to be entertained. I've seen the results as the Executive Director of a sanctuary in Oklahoma who worked with the trainers at the maximum security prison in Lexington, OK. EVERYONE wins - - the prisoners - the dogs - and the lucky people who get to adopt one of the dogs. I will always remember Sarge - - today he is the official greeter at the Veteran's Center in Norman, OK. He got the job because of the amazing training and love he received at the Lexington Prison.

Re: Facebook Photo Of Plymouth Woman At Tomb Of The Unknowns Sparks Outrage

Having walked the cemeteries in France (WWII who gave their lives), Arlington Cemetery and known veterans who fought for us - - there is NO excuse for what she did and "no" her explanation doesn't erase her insensitivity and, most assuredly, her common sense.

Re: Busted For The Bernie: Prep Soccer Team Suspended For Mimicking NFL Celebration

Rarely am I at a loss for words - - this is one of those times. Seriously!!! cancel the season - - Sports are competitive. In EVERY game, someone loses - and SOMEONE wins. There is no way that dance/celebration should be a season-ending punishment. Talk about overreacting - - in spades!!!!

Re: How to network without wearing out your welcome -

The key, though, is to contribute information, help, connections to others FIRST - - then they are more likely to reciprocate. And yes, ti does take time, but the rewards can be amazing both financially and with as you develop your career.

If you start to build your network AFTER you're out of work, it won't be as successful and it will take a long time to build - - - somewhat like planting seeds in the wrong season. Some might grow, but most won't,.

Re: Why Our Best Officers are Leaving - Magazine - The Atlantic

Tim, I've been helping military personnel transition to the civilian world for several years. Your article was on-target as to why they leave - - and the long-term detriment to our country's military leadership.

If General Petraeus now listens to Greg Mortenson, is there hope that one branch of the military just might be ready to change their military rank promotion process? Realizing that the picture you get when you say "change the military rank promotion process - it conjures up a picture of an aircraft carrier being asked to make a 180 correction in a short amount of time.

Maybe if enough dialogue appears on twitter/fb/li - et al - - a ripple may grow into a tide of change. We can hope.

Re: Five Tips for Smarter Social Networking

The five tips reinforces the human touch - whether it is face-to-face, by phone, electronically or print. A multi-generational workforce will mean greater understanding across generations. I see this as a benefit for everyone, especially the aging population. If you've worked (as a young person) with older people in a professional setting - - you are more likely to understand them as they age out of the workforce. Those lessons learned will benefit all age groups.

I remember when 35 meant you were on the downhill slope - - Now 70 means - - I'm still on the hill, may be on the downhill side - - but I'm taking my own, sweet, time to get to the bottom.

Re: The New York Times Website To Charge for Access [REPORT]

No - I can find the news I need on other sites and web pages.

Re: Do I Need a Career Coach?

A career coach can help you find your way through the employment search forest of trees, provide feedback to improve interviewing, fine-tune a resume and open doors to new opportunities. One that immediately comes to mind is a client who was extremely frustrated, so volunteered for a local Christmas In July project. As he was stocking shelves/unpacking boxes, he struck up a conversation with a co-worker who just happened to be the VP of HR for a local company.
