Let people have their own path to recovery, whatever that looks like for them. Worry about yourself and the choices that are best for you. Everyone is different as are their paths. So stop trying to police everyone and worry about your own sobriety.

Re: Keeping It Real: Online Communities, Burnout, & Not Feeling Enough

I can totally relate! I took a very long break and am just recently easing my way back in but in a different way. I know longer feel I have to do x# of blog posts or post content I'm not into. As an artist online criticism and rejection was really hard as was the these people are doing so much better than me. When I was told about an extremely negative and mean email about my art was being circulated on the web, I totally lost it. There was some truth to part of it because I made the mistake of sharing my artwork before I was ready when I was still developing as an artist and finding my voice, the rest was total crap. Either way it hurt, a lot. It was my fellow talented amazing artist friends that told me to just keep painting and screw them and that unfortunately stuff like that happens a lot in the art world. So I went offline, painted all the time, drew new comics and became successful offline. I really developed my unique voice, stopped worrying about what people think and stopped trying to paint for what I "thought people would like" and just painted for myself. It was the best decision I ever made. Now slowly returning, I don't feel the same pressure I did before, and rejection is just the nature of being an artist. I make art because it makes me happy, because I'm compelled to and obsessed with it, not to get certain people to say it's good. Breaks are good.

Re: http://www.rollingstone.com/preview.php/music/news/tom-gabel-of-against-me-comes-out-as-transgender-20120509

It's not my JOB or any LGBTQ's JOB to educate people who don't understand. Also if people legit want to educate themselves they actually do it ask questions in a far less aggressive and offensive way. Laura is educating by bravely sharing her experience with the world, she doesn't have to do that, but she is doing it for herself and the trans community. She is far stronger than I and I hope she just skips the rude/ignorant/phobic comments. I have no patience for ignorance. It is difficult to have that patience living in the world as a queer, if you can't understand that, and what we go through every single day then you probably don't want to understand me.

Re: September Stats & October Goals

haa haa i watched twilight about 30 times in a row........whoa did i just admit that??? lol looks like you got lots done and the busy season is upon us!!
