Ditas is my youngest daughter. As a child she was very competitive with her two older brothers and an older sister. My wife ( Macrine Nieva Jambalos) and I are indeed very proud of her accomplishments. However, I am proud to say that my other three children are also very accomplished in their chosen profession in Law, Banking and Federal Service. Lastly, I like to correct an error implying that I have a medical degree. I have a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and my last employment was the Food and Drug Administration as Chemistry Team Leader for the Division of Anti-Infective Drug Products, Center of New Drugs, Silver Spring, MD.

I received my Census letter last week, so I register on line, the same day. It was easy and took me less than 10 minutes. Today, I received another letter reminding me to register on line and if I don't. the Census will send me paper questioner. Just questioning the follow-up letter as unnecessary!

I retired at 68. I am now 85 and still driving and active writing (blogs) with no major illness. Thank you Lord for my good health and fortune. No Smoking and other bad habits!

Today, I believe the word itsik is no longer a racial slur. However when I was growing up as a kid in the Philippines in the mid 1950's, we teased our friends with word. I fully remember the phrase, Insik bandito, laba imo buto

Here in the US, we do not celebrate New Years Eve with dangerous and unsafe firecrackers. I wonder why most Filipinos are addicted to fireworks on New Year?

This article reminds of my Philippine tango days in the 1960's. My late father, Dr David Jamili Katague taught us ( all teenagers) the mechanics of the old tango ( not Argentine) at that time. More Power to Ivy and Yong Nieva on their Argentine Tango activities.
