I have dealt with diabetics before. There are healthier and better natural sugar options. In the U.S, where obesity and its health-related issues are at an epidemic, there is no need for places to be pushing candy. I applaud this pediatrician for offering healthy options for people. Again, if people don't like the rules, they shouldn't go there.

He has healthy options for diabetics so this wouldn't fly in court. It is sad that people are so sue happ but I guess that's now the "American" way. If people don't like the rules they shouldn't go to that establishment.

I just wanted to clarify this here. I responded to a couple of folks in regard to this issue. Fire department personnel can go on private property if needed to control an incident in any way per NH RSA 154:1-d - NH Statues Relative to Incident Management.

Apparently you haven't read it or didn't understand it. As soon as someone dials 911 and there is a response, this RSA is in effect.

It's hard to imagine that you are serious here.

In any case, you are wrong. Read the NH RSAs. During an emergency, a fire chief can take over anyone's property.

You sound like a pretty heartless person. Heaven forbid a loved one of yours has a medical emergency and someone blocks the ambulance so it can't get to them.

Not related to any of these Sound Off topics but I wanted to vent about something I heard on the news on my way to work yesterday.

Apparently, the "experts" are strongly encouraging health insurance companies to offer free lung screenings for folks over 50 that smoke as they have a very high risk of getting lung cancer.

Are they serious? If smokers chose to smoke and damage their health, they should pay out of their own pockets. Another example of shirking responsibility. Who do they think is going to pay for this?

I like your thinking but the list should be expanded to include driving under the influence of drugs and texting while driving. Perhaps those "victims" would then be more responsible about not letting someone drive under the influence or distracted. It's amazing what happens when people actually start taking responsibility.

Freebie follies: I know a lot of people who say we shouldn't punish the children for the mistakes of their parents. I don't see a problem with a kid learning the difference between working hard to get what s/he wants vs having everything handed out to him/her for free. It's a lesson that kids (and adults) need to learn. I know many people, my parents included, that went without growing up. They learned that they wanted a better lifestyle and then worked harder.

I can certainly understand both sides here.

Just like everything else in America, you give people an inch, they take a mile. ET does spend a lot of time monitoring this site which prevents them from getting their jobs done.

In the end, everyone gets punished and rules are made because of the actions of a few. This is just another example of that.

Unfortunately, we live in a world of retaliation so many of us, myself included, will not be publishing our real names or commenting further starting August 1st. The government already knows who all of us are and what we say and do; we don't need whack jobs showing up at our doorstep or vandalizing our properties because they don't like our comments or we prevent factual evidence to someone who suffers from anti-factitis. I've seen what happens to vocal people like Mark Acciard.

We're paying: If you want to blame someone, blame our elected gov't officials for the hike. The businesses respond to the gov't hikes by raising their prices so they can STAY in business.

Haven't tried the Chuck wine. But for $2 I think I should be getting my wine there. Thanks for the tip.

I like MB but can't stand the Plaistow store. The aisles are too narrow and the deli and dairy areas smell like chemicals. With the amount of people that shop at the Plaistow store, the crowds are unbearable for me. I'd rather go to Epping.

I like Trader Joe's too but when the economy starts tanking and people start losing their jobs due to the health care changes, I'd rather have the lower prices.

Yes and no. ALDI's has there own brand of food so you're not paying for brand name items. They don't have 15 types of products such as Cheerios - you will have a couple of selections to choose from but not as extensive as other stores.

They have a great selection of produce and other house items.

You will have to pay 25 cents to get a carriage but you will get it back when you plug the carriage back into the cart area. This helps them save money by preventing carriage accidents in the lot. Thus, they can offer better prices to you.

Also, bring your own bags or boxes. They don't supply bagging items. They will ring you up quicker, place your goods back in the basket, and then you will have to bag them on a counter near the exit.

I know some people like the luxury of having a bagger and tons of selection. But for me, I'd rather do some stuff myself & have less variety on most stuff in order to get good prices. They have a great business model.

I will be so glad if ALDI's moves in. I like the store in Salem but it's takes too long to get there with all the traffic. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Because it's the American way. Take no responsibility in a dangerous situation and then sue when something goes wrong.

This was a terrible accident but they knew that fireworks were going to be used and then decided to take a risk by staying. Fireworks, regardless of size, can be dangerous at any time. I feel sorry for all those involved in this terrible tragedy.

Dog day: People should always call the police in these cases. It packs a better punch when getting the point across that you don't leave your do, even for a few minutes, in a hot, sweltering car. People are clueless and many animals have died because their owner's lacked common sense.

I'm with you but people don't learn. They keep voting the same fools back in office. Republicans and Democrats, not really too much difference when you think about it. They both put their wallets ahead of American interest.
