Seriously poor optics in a county with such checkered reputation. The County, it's cities, towns, & boroughs, are not very skilled in promoting job openings. It's no wonder few people apply, and those who do are in the know through family and friend referral.

I guess this can't just be a liberal who has filmmaking talent who wants to use it to express his views. People need to look up the definition of 'rigged'. This doesn't have to be about collusions and corruption. If I could make film I would be making one too - I wouldn't even contact the Clinton campaign, I would just put it out there.

There is such a big difference between introverted and shy, and not all introverts have social anxiety. Lots of us work in occupations where we need to be extroverted at times. We get to spend less stimulating time doing things we prefer after hours. Malcolm Gladwell says it best - “Speaking is not an act of extraversion,it has nothing to do with extraversion. The employment rate is calculated the same way all over the country for every metro area. Are you thinking there is some manipulation of numbers going on and our metro area was not calculated the same as others across PA? Regardless of how many people fell off the rolls, the calculations are apples and apples with other metros. We rank where we rank.

We used to have a system like that, where employers paid whatever they felt was fair. People were taken advantage of, and as a result the labor movement and Fair Standards Labor Act of 1938 was established to prevent abuse by employers, through minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, and child labor standards affecting full-time and part-time workers in the private sector and in Federal, State, and local governments. I can't really envision how getting rid of a law that protects the American worker would be beneficial.

Perhaps you missed it but the answer is in the second to last paragraph. "They said the new center, an incubator that will support businesses started by Wilkes University students, faculty and staff, shows jobs are being created." It is for businesses started specifically by Wilkes students, faculty and staff. They started their own incubator. It's a good idea.

This is a nice post, full of good sentiment. I work with and socialize with people of many backgrounds and usually have no idea about a person's religion unless they mention it or wear an outward symbol, jewelry, specific vestments, etc. I find belief to be a private conviction and don't pry, so I say happy holidays in general, unless I truly happen to know if I am speaking to a person of a particular faith who celebrates a specific holiday. I'm of no belief or faith and I'm not offended in the least if someone wishes me Merry or Happy (name the holiday). I think it's rather stubborn and self-righteous to be offended by such things. Expecting others to live by our traditions or beliefs is an exercise in frequent disappointment.
