Spectacles use this circular video where when you view it inside Snapchat, it's full screen regardless of whether you're portrait or landscape. Hard to explain but you can see the effect here:
https://www.spectacles.com/ (scroll down to the second section where it shows a gif of a hand rotating a phone)

But when you're not inside Snapchat, it exports like a circle. If you want to try it out inside Snapchat, I've got a demo on my story (snapkarenx)

I believe they're doing a bunch of computer vision work to stabilize around the object you're pivoting around (creating a 3D model behind the scenes). You should try it by actually tilting your phone right/left, it feels way different than it looks in the photos/gifs.

Hey thanks for this. I'm usually pretty open about how I feel (both to others and to myself) but I didn't used to be like that. All my life, through college and even a bit after, I suppressed my emotions and was pretty emotionally stunted. I've been working on that for the last few years. Fighting my (now) natural desire to be open while trying to create the illusion of awesomeness around investors was one of the most uncomfortable things of running a startup.

Thanks! I'm using the back-facing camera, but you can use either. It's a little easier to see what you're doing if you use the front, but if you want to use iPhone 5 and 6 slow-motion capture, you have to use the back camera.
