I think it's going to be very successful. At the same time, I don't think it's threat to Twitter or any of the social networks it aggregates because as you said, it needs those services to work. Still....I've been seeing a handful of people actually post questions or comments directly in FriendFeed using the 'Share Something' feature. No aggregation or other service necessary. No pulling of anything.

While it's not that big of a deal now, I could see it gaining some traction as FriendFeed continues to take off.

Has it found the secret sauce? Yup and it's perfecting it to everyone's liking quite nicely.

Re: FriendFeed: aggregation vs. fragmentation

At the same time, half of the sites that FriendFeed aggregates are sites that are open to the public to some extent (ie Twitter). I wasn't born in the age of USENET. Sure, I've heard about it. I've even attempted to try it out, but the services that are readily available now and were put out while I've been catching on to things are way more useful for me. Perhaps it's a generational thing?

The features may not be new, but sometimes the implementation and ease of use is.

Re: FriendFeed: aggregation vs. fragmentation

Well in that case I definitely can and have complained about the fragmentation too!

http://corvida.ilumine.net/...

Re: The TechCrunch Good Cop - Bad Cop Routine

Those slick bastards! Because FriendFeed has integrated it I'm going to install it on my blog (hopefully tonight).
