Although you write that "Netflix started streaming more than 14 years ago" it only commissioned its first comedy series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, in 2015.

Therefore it only would have been possible for Netflix to win the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series during the past six years, not 14.

Christopher Snowdon doesn't know what he's talking about when he says "Sugar consumption has fallen considerably since 1980". Consumption of table sugar has fallen, yes, but individual weekly intake of sugar in fruit juice, cakes and pasties, biscuits and breakfast cereals are all way up, according to Defra's latest figures. The only other form of sugar intake to fall since the 1980s is "preserves", so I take it people aren't eating many jam sandwiches as their parents did.

I reckon they'll kill the Beats brand within 18 months.

I'd guess the visibility of those white Apple headphones - which were everywhere
between about 2004 and 2011 - was worth a lot more in terms of
advertising than billions of dollars worth of billboards, TV and
magazine ads.

There's a reason why all iPods came with those free headphones, and that they stood out from the crowd - no other headphones at the time came in white. After a while Apple's ads relied on the headphones as branding - remember those dancing silhouettes?

Say what you will about the quality of the Beats product, but I'm sure Apple has data that finds young trendsetters nowadays are more likely to be seen out in public wearing Beats than Apple headphones. From a mindshare point-of-view, it makes sense to take over the brand that's blocking one of the easiest ways for you to acquire consumer awareness.
