If you are running a high-end laptop with an OC'ed graphics card, I'd recommend the CM Storm SF-19 with dual 140mm fans. It's going to push more air and keep both your CPU and graphics card cooler than the single-fan SF-17.

With the software that I used, you could only make adjustments in 800dpi intervals. I know that the latest Recon software is 1.15, but don't recall exactly which version I used for the testing.

Sorry for the delayed response.

The AF32 is closed back and has minimal sound leakage. I probably wouldn't recommend them for a whisper quiet environment like a library, but for a train they should be just fine.

Sorry, Charlie, but the cable on the HD-428 is not something that can be easily replaced. It is not detachable. If you are sure it is, in fact, a problem with the cable your best bet is to contact Sennheiser customer service to see if you can get a replacement set of headphones under warranty.

No special precations needed. It works "indefinitely" --- that is to say there is no stated lifetime for the product, and it should continue to work well for as many years as you own it.

Some portable speaker products come with carrying cases (like the Polk Audio MiDock), and some don't (like the UCube). But straight from the Ucube product page on the Ufi website:

"Wherever you hang, your music and movies follow! At just three-inches square they’re personal and portable, ideal for home, on your desk or on the go! ... "

I do very much agree with you about the these speakers being designed to fit in with the minimalistic Mac-style look&feel. They are almost a similar in just about every way style-wise.

Agree. These were one of the most dreadful sounding set of earphones I've ever heard. I would have probably scored them lower if they weren't so cheap. At $10 they are one of the least expensive sets I've ever heard, so you have to give them at least a bit of credit in that respect.

The headphones you mentioned at the end at the end - Sennheiser HD 800, Testa T1, etc. are in a completely different league. Those are for serious music listeners who don't mind shelling out hundreds of dollars to achieve audio bliss.

I don't have any personal experience with Phillips headphones, but I know they have a decent reputation for solid bang-for-your-buck headphones. I haven't heard the "Stretch" so can't really comment on whether it will fit the bill for your sound quality preferences. Head-fi.org is a good resource for headphone reviews, and I'd recommend taking a look there to see if you can find any reviews on that model.

Yes, a 3.5mm stereo female to RCA male Y-Cable would work. This is assuming your TV has RCA stereo inputs, which nearly every TV does have.

If your TV has a 3.5mm input connection, then yes.

If your TV does not have a 3.5mm input, then you'd need an adaptor and it would be more of a hassle to get it connected.

Thanks for the comments. The Ety HF3 and their deep-insertion definitely takes getting used to and may not be everyone's cup of tea. But if isolation is what you're looking for, I really don't think there is any other universal IEM on the market that can compete.

As far as I know, Evercool does not offer a notebook cooler for 17" or larger notebooks. But I know other companies do have coolers for notebooks that big ... for example the Cooler Master Notepal has a version for 17" and 19" laptops.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Mandy1395. Glad you are enjoying the Asyms sound. I haven't heard the Ink'd or the Smokin' Buds, but most reviews of those models aren't exactly positive. But with the price of these dropping so much (you can find them pretty easily for <$15 now) they aren't a bad choice for a bass lover.

There is no place to store the stylus easily. This is unfortunately a design issue with the Nextbook NEXT2.

Yes, you can connect it to an MP3 player using a standard 3.5mm cable. You still need to connect it to a power outlet. And I am not sure what you mean, though, about the "presence of a laptop or PC" ?

I was only able to get it to work after I created a brand new email account and used that to register at the Adobe site. Also make sure you have the date and time zone settings correctly set up in the Nextbook BEFORE you register the new account.
