Seems so close. It was beautiful and lots of fun.

For those wondering about conditions, the trail is mostly ready to go. I rode the route as mapped on May 30/31. There were about 30 downed trees in the first 5 miles or so, but mostly easy to go around, carry over, or crawl under. Only 2-3 really posed an issue and I believe crews were clearing that section yesterday after I went through, so shouldn’t be a problem anymore. Crow Creek was pretty muddy though!

There was a nasty looking section of downed trees on Hooch Trail as well, but an appealing looking single track trail presented itself on the left side after carrying over a few trees and circumvented the worst of it.

TL;DR: If you’re worried about the reports of tree fall, the trails are pretty well cleared now.

Re: Vedauwoo Rendezvous

Thanks Lewis, that's too bad, but really appreciate this intel!

Re: Vedauwoo Rendezvous

Did you find anything? I just bought a Nordest Sardinha (on the strength of Logan's review on this site, of course) and it has more eyelets than I currently know what to do with. Particularly with the eyelets that provide an opening into a frame tube, how important is it to fill them to prevent water ingress? Should all the holes be plugged, or is it more of an "easy in, easy out" kind of thing?

Re: Mid South 2022: Austin Reviews His Surly Midnight Special

It was an old school Lance Armstrong weight saving trick.
