Thank you Rep. Mundy for your efforts in authoring Act 119 and Gov. Rendell for signing it into law. It is so important that children in foster care, and those who care for them, understand the rights of children in the foster care system. More specifically, I am glad to know Pennsylvania allows teens to stay in foster care until the age of 21, however these young adults must be aware of this option for it to be successful. The passage of Act 119 is a big step in insuring foster children know their rights, and that more teens will take advantage of staying in foster care until age 21, thereby having a better chance at a successful future. Thank you again for doing your part in helping protect foster children.

Very well said, Alyssa! This really spoke to me because I have felt the intimidation and fear of trying to help, worried that I'll do or say something wrong. But letting that stop me would be the ultimate wrong. You are right, there is a wonderful support system for the volunteers and with that support we can help the youth who have no one. All we need to do is start by helping just one... Thanks for your wise words :)

Thank you for this great article about Jimmy Wayne and Project Meet Me Halfway. I have been a supporter of Jimmy's for years, yet until January 1st when he began his walk across country I was unaware of the "aging out" issue foster teens face and the number of teens becoming homeless at the age of 18. The awareness raised by Jimmy's walk was tremendous, but articles like this that continue to tell his story and the need for Project Meet Me Halfway also help immensely in raising awareness of this issue. I hope anyone reading it will take a little more time and visit the Meet Me Halfway website at www.projectMMH.org to learn more about this issue and ways they can help. Thanks again!

I'm so glad Gabe found Jimmy and shared his story with him. I think it really gave Jimmy a lift, and it let's him know that the message of MMH is spreading. These are the stories that need to be talked about!

Jimmy is really doing a number on my heart. Knowing he's suffering hurts, but I understand why he's doing it. Just wish he didn't have to.

I've woke up that cold before when I've been camping and it is miserable...and it was by choice. Some don't have a choice and I think about them everyday now.

For those who missed the "NICK's Law" Ustream last night here is a recap:

The phone connection was terrible at first and that is why the videos are so short and did not save. Too bad because it was a great session :(

Jimmy talked about the law that needs to be written & passed to help these kids and putting a face to that law in the manner of Megan's Law. Everyone remembers that sweet little girl and what happened to her. We all remember Nick from the Memphis Group Home. That is the face for NICK's Law.

Jimmy then asked us to brainstorm for what the letters N I C K could stand for. Many good ideas flew by on the screen but in the end NICK'S Law was agreed on....National Involvement Concerning Kids in the System. NICK'S Law.

Jimmy & Dreama will be Tweeting more articles to read and he asked us to PLEASE ReTweet them, forward them to everyone you know. And if you find similar articles concerning the cause let Dreama know. Everyone is encouraged to do their own research and think of ideas for what we want NICK'S Law to be.

It was an exciting and productive Ustream. After such a long day for Jimmy & many of us it was a great way to end the the day.

It was another interesting day with Jimmy. I got his Tweets all day and then after watching Ustreams I understood more of where they were coming from. He's asking a lot of good questions...hope people out there is listening and some answers can be found.

I heard the whole song today and once I get used to hearing another voice on there I think it will be OK. Of course, you can't get much better than the original. Just wish someone would explain why they thought they needed to change it.

When I heard the whole verson today I was OK with it. It's still Jimmy's incredible voice for the most part and I don't mind the addition of Whitney for the chorus & background...just need to get used to it :)

I read somewhere that the song is not being release until Feb. 22nd, so hopefully then we will start hearing it. We are not very patient when it comes to this stuff. Lol!

Jimmy is Ustreaming right now about hearing Just Knowing You Love Me on the radio for the first time. He's in a really good mood. Sounds soooooo happy! He's smiling & laughing & talking. It's going to be a good day!
