Its a point of the employees knowing you care. Work can get really boring, it can make a huge difference though, if it is for someone who cares, and if it is helping you complete your goals. It also builds loyalty, trust, and even connections for the future.

Re: just what I’m hungry for

Waiting and listening is definitely something important. Its really easy to forget in our daily rush, that sometimes the right answer requires us to just wait.

Re: How to Become a Better Manager in 3 Easy Steps

Another point that I would really like a chance to try, is get to know each employee by their dreams. When you talk with them, help them set small goals that they can work at that will bring them closer to their dreams. If you have a task that will build up something that they need, assign it to them.

Re: Little Girl, Big Idea: Sunny Stevenson

This is definitely evidence that there is no excuse for not making a difference!

Re: Succeed Anyway.

"To hell with circumstance; I create my own opportunities."-- Bruce Lee

Re: Do You Have a Vampire Problem?

That reminds me a lot of what Howard Roarke from Ayn Rand's Fountainhead would do. He would only build his houses for certain customers, as he was in a tough business so that he could set his own terms.

Re: how to remove a stuck mantra

LOL that's awesome, a counter-mantra, though I must admit I do like my mantras. Another question is, do you really want to never find out if you could succeed? That nagging question can drive us nuts.

Re: The One Thing Worse than Getting Fired

You don't even have to skimp on premium quality food if you are willing to learn a little about cooking. I may eat inexpensively, but I can still make a lot of my favorite foods with things that store well. The fact is that if I went to a restaraunt to eat the things I teach myself how to cook than I would spend triple my money for the same amount of food. Just learning how to cook and eating out less can save a ton of money!

Re: the red thread

What do you think caused you to forget the color?

Re: Does Multi-tasking Dull Your Mind?

The samurai trained hard so that they would have super human single tasking focus. It becomes one less thing to worry about, and gives additional breathing room, above and beyond just saving money.

Re: 4 Effective Personal Branding Strategies You Forgot

Well said, I absolutely agree.

Re: 4 Effective Personal Branding Strategies You Forgot

Way to keep the eye on the ball Jeff! It gets them out of the way, makes someones job easier, gives you a little extra exercise, and it leaves you feeling great about having done even a small thing to make a difference.

Re: Some Thoughts On Community

Surrounding yourself with individuals with a same mission definitely sounds like a good step.
