Nice machine, I carried that baby for almost 3 years :) The M249 SAW.

Here are a few other ways to find decent gems:
- pair program with people and sneak a peek at their Gemfile
- check out rails templates on github, lots of gems in there (pun intended)
- gist is an interesting place to search, but you need to have an idea of what you're looking for. I almost search there before google for code things, like a config/database.yml file for postgresql because I forget all the parameters
- http://hubscovery/ it's a nicer way to search github repositories (actually handles multiple search terms well, can filter by forks/watchers/last pushed, etc)

Another source you might find useful is my own Freelance Funnel. I pull from a variety of sources, remove duplicates and send out a simple, easy to read and skim email every day.

I pull from over 40 sources and have about 15 categories to sort them, everything from Android Developer to Writer.

I have, and I see mechanically how to use it. From that view it seems pretty much like any scrum-ish tool with a backlog and velocity.

+1 to the screencast idea. I'd like to find out why this koolaid tastes so much better than everyone elses. I know a lot of smart folk that use this, even have their customers use it. I get the basic idea, but maybe something just isn't clicking for me.

You should try blogo, it's a ruby cocoa app that's the best I can find on Mac and stacks up well against Windows Live Writer.
