I updated the article regarding the June 2018 volume, thanks for catching that.

I know it can be hard to look past the last couple months of low volume, but I'm confident we will bounce back — it's only a matter of time.

We will be here to cover it with more people and announcements coming soon. Stay tuned.

John

Re: Editor’s Take: Reverse Mortgage Industry Can’t Bite the Helping Hands Reaching Out

Matt,

Fair points and trust me I wish there was a better way to manage comments.

Serious question — if we charged $100 a year to comment on RMD would you do it?

Every person would have to be verified by a human with their picture... thoughts?

Re: Mutual of Omaha Bank Enters Reverse with Synergy One Acquisition

@Jason Levy @Dan Stemen

Thanks for contributing and supporting us. I own Senior Housing News, the largest b2b trade publication covering the industry and it's honestly scary how much trouble we are in when it comes to taking care of the Baby Boomers.

Luckily, there are companies like Care Innovations (Intel/GE), Healthsense, and Status Solutions are working on remote monitoring solutions that will identify and track falls, change in behavior, ect. to notify staff of problems. Full disclosure, all clients of mine, but best of breed providers.

These solutions are primarily being deployed in assisted living like settings, which unfortunately cost on average about $4500 a month. Not many of the boomers will be able to afford that type of care, which means it has to be delivered in the home.

There are so many barriers to that happening and too long to type in a comment. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out and unfortunately it's going to be painful for all of us to figure out how we pay for the wave of Boomers turning 65.

Lets just say reporting on this stuff everyday has scared me into being a big saver... we are all going to need it to fund retirement and care.

Re: GitHub for Writers

I second that... nate is doing a kick ass job

Re: FHA to Get Second Opinion on Insurance Fund Shortfall

might be your best/comment insight I've read.

hope all is well

Re: HUD to Combine Existing Reverse Mortgage Products

Didn't hear anything about it, sorry

Re: Selling Your Product | Points and Figures

Totally agree!

As a side note, we started using braintree about a year ago and they have blown me away... one of my favorite vendors.

Re: Live Like You Are Dying | Points and Figures

Loved the video, thank you for sharing!

Have to admit though, I thought the post was going to reference Tim McGraw since he has a song "Live Like You Were Dying". =)

Re: [Update] Walter Investment Management Buys Security One for Up to $31 Million

They are acquiring all of the stock, so not an asset deal.
