OK, guys - I was introduced as being on the show three times. Something about that estimate seemed low, and so I did some lazy Googling and got: Saucy Burt's, The Inn, Sen Yai Sen Lek, Cheeky Monkey, and, of course Rincon 38. Five-peat! Unless I missed something. Which I might've.

Back in high school, in Madison, we'd skip every scheduled pep rally / assembly and make a run for the border. I'd get two soft tacos and a seven-layer burrito. I still don't know what a pep rally is like, to this day, because we were so good at cutting out and heading to Taco Bell. Good times.

Who is this Edwin Mullhouse character? I'm instantly impressed and intrigued by any eleven-year old who manages to establish himself or herself in the pantheon of notable American writers. What a brief, tragic, but interesting life he must have led!

When you say "Third Wave Ska," you've basically described my social life from 1993-1996. In defense of Third Wave -- there were some actually respectable Midwestern ska-fusion acts (Weaker Youth Ensemble, the Pacers, MU330) that incorporated elements of funk and hardcore... stop that! Stop hooting incredulously! It WAS TOO a valid music scene. Christ. All I'll say is this: You haven't truly lived until you've been to a show where the 11-person band outnumbers the 9-person audience. I, by contrast, have tasted the rich nectar of consciousness. At the Bim Skala Bim show, at the Loft. Yes, Bim Skala Bim was really their name.
