There has never been a better time than right now, and it's no time to be flat-footed. While others are scratching their heads, and some pulling their hair out, you could be hatching the plan that allows you to walk away with the loot.

Re: Global Intelligence

Jon, it certainly is an exciting time to be alive. Getting to this tipping point where the vast majority of people know what is going on,and how to tap into it and use it to their advantage is much sooner than most people would care to think.

History has shown that great paradigm shifts come in huge leaps, and not incrementally.

Clay Shirkey talks a lot about how big is different (and faster is different) in his book "Here comes Everybody". There is a part where he talks about how in observing the way that small movements gather pace, there are three main stages; Everybody knows, where people work out for themselves what the new paradigm is. Everybody knows everybody knows, where people recognise that other people know what's going on as well. And finally, the most powerful, and irrepressible stage, Everybody knows that everybody knows everybody knows, where people and the group have a shared awareness of the new reality that enables them to coordinate in ways not possible through organisation alone.

I think we have reached the second stage, where everybody knows that knowledge is at our fingertips. We are just moments away from realising that everybody knows that everybody knows.

Re: Rainbow Hill

I noticed that also, it's a bit strange isn't it. I hate to see that go missing. Thanks for making that clear. It's important.

Learning by yourself is tough, especially if you're not immersed in Japanese, so it's really important to get as much input as possible. All the input in the world won't help though if you don't have someone to communicate with in Japanese. I'm with Koichi on this, you need to find a "language resource person", some one who can guide your learning and give you the support you need.

I'm looking forward to seeing how eduFire takes off.

Re: Jesus’ Life, Family, and Death (in Japan)

Legend has it that one of the 3 sacred treasures of the Japanese imperial family is a Hebrew mirror thousands of years old. The so-called mirror of Yata (Yata no kagami) is inscribed with "eheyeh asher eheyeh" (I am that I am), the name given to god in Exodus 3:14. No one living has ever seen it, yet every few years the silk cover which protects it from prying eyes is covered in yet another layer of silk.

It is held at the Grand Shrine in Ise, and is considered so sacred not even the emperor himself has seen it.

Remember that large parts of the life of Jesus, if you believe in the man as a historical figure, remain undocumented. It is quite like that in time between his coming of age and his return to Israel in his late twenties he went travelling. Perhaps the true life of Christ is more fantastic than we could ever imagine.

Re: Rainbow Hill

I too think they have made things worse.
