And I think it is valid to imagine your daughter's experiences with intolerance in the future.  I also see your in-laws' sadness that you would move away due to these issues and their disbelief that your experiences are reflective of the entire town.  I am biracial as well and very thankful my family, like your mother, left their home country (also full of racism, social classes, and intolerant people) and faced macro-aggressions and racism head-on in America so I could pick and choose what micro-aggressions are bothering me and what I can rise above.  There is no one correct path but luckily, few wrong ones as well, and as a mother, you must follow your instincts.
