Understood. Really looking for something that blends all that disqus has with private chat opportunities if two people want to take their conversation offline. Kind of like Discourse but more embeddable. If anyone has any suggestions would love that.

You are wrong. Uber/Lyft's expenditure was primarily in-kind (in-app ads, free rides to the polls). The $9M figure is biased in and of itself.

The city passed regulations that made their business model with an elastic supply of driver impossible to operate under.

The thing you must go back to is that there was no problem. There was no issue. Everything was working fine. If the Taxi's wanted an invite to the party then they should have moved their model closer to uber/lyft not force uber/lyft to move their model closer to the Taxi's.

Every point in this interview is extremely valid. Those that refuse to hear that, are blinded by emotion.

Is there a way to have products only available to checked in members? I am envisioning when they are at their desk they could order a coffee or otherwise and that would trigger an order alert at the cafe. They would then make and deliver the drink to the desk. Is there a way to include the picture or allow them to put in an description of where in the space they are located?

I'm a bit confused as to why the time pass would be applied on check out and not on check in. While it seems like members would check in, when they "check out" they may simply leave the space. I believe I've set it up correctly where people can buy a "10 day punch card" which is essentially 10 24 hour passes. I've used a test user to purchase one and I now see my passes in my account. However, I can't figure out how to apply a pass. I'm going to try the above "on checkout" suggestion.

Another concept here is that of the wifi check in. Something that really attracted us to this platform. Ideally it seems like I should be able to sit down, login to the network and select a time pass to use if there isn't one already active.....

Interestingly - I just tried with the nightly CM 9 and got the same thing. The only thing I can think of is I got a newly released red galaxy S3 and paid full price with no contract from the AT&T store. I can't imagine the color would matter. And I'm pretty sure they didn't sell me any different phone than if I'd paid the contract price. I can't imagine why it would think it's some other variant.

Uh oh. Dnsimple.com won't load (it does resolve). Not very confidence inspiring for a DNS service! Will chalk it up to the winer effect! Every DNS geek out there is probably trying to sign up! Love the concept though. Ran into the top level domain name Cname restriction on several occasions. Most notably trying to put a CDN in front of a site and not wanting to use www.

Love it! Simple wins. Photo sharing piece doesn't even need to be proximity based. How many times have you taken a great shot and your friend has asked for a copy so you email it. How much better would it be if you could just inject (with permission of course) into their photo library.

It is slightly ironic that you use Disqus on your blog which basically "silo's" all your readers comments within the Disqus system. Yes, I know it keeps the comments sync'd with the local system and provides an XML feed. But, how is that so different from the Twitter API? I've also had problems w/ large wordpress sites and disqus falling out of sync where disqus could really care less. The support was essentially wait for our next release and cross your fingers.

My in laws are in Dublin, as a result my wife and I are over quite frequently. I left my old 3G iPhone there (unlocked) with an Irish number on O2. I forwarded my US cell number to my Vonage line and forwarded that to my Irish number (Vonage number has free calls to UK / Ireland). I kept my US number mostly with data roaming turned off throughout our month long trip. Even with these extreme efforts I still got a text at the end of my trip saying I had exceeded 100mb. It really seems unbelievable. Especially considering in the US my usage trends toward 200mb per month with full time use. Point being, it feels like the metering is somehow measured differently. My next trip I will most certainly leave it off completely. I do wish there was a text forwarding option.

By the way, do those places that unlock it do so without jaikbreaking?

I don't disagree w/ anything you've said and I've always wondered why I can't send a picture I've taken directly to my friends camera wirelessly. However, I would like to add - they do make great cameras. You can pry my Lumix GH1 from my cold dead hands.

Hah. That's pretty funny. Actually, no, this doesn't happen on any brand of printer. I have had many ink jet printers which don't require "special" cartridges to initialize. Any cartridge of the proper type that you buy will do fine. In addition, even if you do require special initial cartridges, the fact that you can't buy them is ludicrous.

By the way, your IP traces back to India, I wonder if you work for the "outstanding" customer service team that I spoke with in trying to troubleshoot this problem?

Ok, so, this all seems to culminate in one question - is there a service that will tie in a Cloud enabled RSS feed --> twitter / friend feed / facebook / etc. status updates. I'm thinking the P2 wordpress theme w/ cloud enabled and I now own my own status updates.
