As mobile devices become more powerful, consumers have better, more sophisticated tools to create their own messages. Again, the iPhone 4 is a perfect example of this, giving users the opportunity to shoot and edit fully HD video and upload with a touch of a screen. Of course, this too can be affected by the loss of unlimited data.

Re: Google Docs Adds Major New Features [PICS]

What's the latest on docverse? I especially like your new definition of creativity. I always view ideas like musical notes. When writing a song, the notes to choose from already exist; you only need to arrange them in new ways. In the same way, ideas already exist; you only need to use them in a different way,

Re: Are We All Asking to Be Robbed?

As the victim of two break-ins over the past year (not related to checking in), I have been worried about this. I do not have my address linked to my Twitter account in any way and have actually started to check in to where I went after I had already gotten home.

Re: // Never Fall in Love (With an Idea)

I've come up with a system. If I have a really good idea, I wait a while to let some other ideas circulate. Then I throw mine out. I found that if an idea is brought up early, even if it's the best, the group wants to discuss for more time. It may be cheating, but sometimes I'm ok with that.

Re: // Is Hype the New Super Bowl Measurement?

Good point. Unfortunately too many companies are content with showing off their creative, even if it is bad, just to get "noticed" because they were on the Super Bowl.

Re: Mentors

Excellent post. I can't really blame Pepsi for wanting attention and buzz. After all, it still is marketing. But if the program is a success in that it does bring about good in communities, then Pepsi should get a lot of credit.

Re: // Something New for a Writer’s Toolbox

Nice write up, and I think Google-like will soon be a word if it's not already. You had a great conversation going on your post, and when you mentioned people to people, it sparked something. Personally, I never understood why there's a difference in marketing to B2C vs. B2B. I can't tell you the amount of times I've bounced ideas around with a group until practically stumbling upon that one solid piece of information that makes the big difference. Funny you should use that Buick example, though. When I first learned this lesson, it was a project to write a promotional piece of a Chevy truck to a twenty something male and a second to a mom in her thirties. Same product; two completely different messages.

Re: Texas Tech Football Coach Calls Twitter Users Narcissists

This just makes me sad. Texas Tech had an opportunity to make a statement here. They still did, but unfortunately it's definitely the wrong one. Funny, because Texas Tech Athletics and the university have Twitter accounts that (among other things) promote the team.

I wrote my response as a fan and a social media user here: http://bit.ly/LnDmT

Re: // My Take on the TTU Football Twitter Ban

I think it's a lack of understanding how to handle the situation. If a player had said those things in a press conference, he would (rightfully) be banned from press conferences for the rest of the season. Leach is trying to treat this the same way. But it's not the same. Banning social media is like banning conversation. Will he ban players from talking on cell phones if they give a negative phone interview?

This is an extreme and very public example of how all entities are trying to catch up with how to use social media and the fears that come with it. Good points, and thank for the comment.

Re: Twitter Banned from Texas Tech Football Team

I wrote a response to Leach's decision as both a Tech fan and an avid social media user.
