Re: Google offered WhatsApp $10 billion

You may be interested in reading this then:

http://eliainsider.com/2014...

"Whatsapp does not store any data on their servers. It is not about who is the lead now or in the future in numbers, but how active are the users on those networks as they both compete for your eyeballs, the only source of revenue being from advertising. So it is not the growing number of users that matter, but how many hours a day/week they are using it. People are spending way much more time on Facebook than they do on Google+. Now and probably in the future also. Google+ is not really catching up even if their numbers are growing (just look at the number of your friends on Google+ vs Facebook and how active they are on both platforms), no detective work is needed here.

But I still do wish them success. Competition is good for the users. As long as a service is free, for sure we will have to cope with the fact that we compromise part of our privacy. The price to pay to have such features for free.

Re: Google+ Is Growing at Facebook Speed

This article has nearly twice the number of tweets and Facebook shares then Google +1. Essentially, if Apple believes that you, and not an authorized service center, accessed non-"User Replacable Parts" (pretty much limited to battery and RAM), and they can find evidence of that, you're SOL on a warranty claim.

That said, if you are careful -- by this, I mean: use the correct tools, track the location of every screw removed, ensure static protection and are careful not to stress or force any removal or reassembly step -- you are A) unlikely to cause damage, and B) unlikely to leave any signs that the case was opened. You just need a large, clean work surface and about an hour (on the conservative side) to make sure that you do it right.

Your other option is to go a Genius bar and ask a technician to do it for you. Show this post if needed to him/her.

Re: Fix the ticking clicking sound in your MacBook Pro Unibody

I have both the 2010 and 2011 MBA. The problem you are describing is only about the Macbook Air 2010. This is caused by the bottom plate not being properly screwed. It is a known issue (I know I had the problem myself!) and you should simply go to the Apple Store. They will unscrew the bottom plate and just replace it properly and then screw it back. It is not the problem I'm describing here, but certainly very annoying.

If you cannot go to an Apple Store, you can unscrew the bottom plate yourself using a star screwdriver (http://www.amazon.com/Anyti.... If you have Apple Care, I would suggest not to, as not to void your warranty.

Re: Fix the ticking clicking sound in your MacBook Pro Unibody

Nick, you are truly a believer ;)

Re: Cabane à sucre Famille Éthier à Mirabel

Je peux difficilement vous aider. This is I begun ask myself the question.

Apple call it a World phone. And what a world phone is a GSM phone. They said it during the conference: that any CDMA network users would be able to be get access also to the world coverage as the phone is dual band (CDMA and GSM). But this is for them, the CDMA users. All the others are already on world phone is some way.

The problem is more for the US residents. Doing a good move would be to buy an unlock phone, so they can move from carrier to carrier. Here in Canada it is not a big deal unless you were planning to go to the US and would have like coverage on one of the CDMA networks, otherwise you will be hooked up with AT&T.

Re: [Update] Unlocked iPhone 4S Prices in Canada Revealed at $649, $749, $849

The iPhone 4S in Canada is not Dual Band GSM/CDMA. It is really simple as the only thing you need to understand is how to screw and unscrew. There is nothing else in the operation like disconnecting a wire or something else involving electronic. You just need to be methodical as some screws of the plate are more longer than other and need to be place back in the same hole. As for the spring, it is two screws to remove, that's it.

If you are close to an Apple Store you can ask a Genius to do it for you. By now it is a document problem and they should know how to fix it. They generally remove the plate, put an electrical tape between the plate and the spring before closing everything. You'll be in peace after that ;)
