Although it is indeed good news that the ratings climbed this past week, next week (2/24), #FreshOffTheBoat is scheduled to go up against THE VOICE for the first time. (So while FOTB's ratings are indeed higher than those of SELFIE in the same time slot, SELFIE always aired against THE VOICE, so the next few weeks will be a true test for FOTB)

My interpretation of "these things rarely are" was that blind dates are rarely successful. I don't think he was commenting on putting two Asian Americans together with that particular statement.

For the record, I was interviewed in this piece and I am Taiwanese American.

And although I am not a huge basketball fan, the point is that Jeremy Lin's impact here in Los Angeles will transcend the sport.

I'm not really outraged by the tweets, but I'll note that when things like this happen, my inbox is flooded with questions like "When are you going to write about the racist tweets?"

On one hand, we can't get upset every time it happens, but on the other hand, it's good to document it because it's really happening. Perhaps one day we can look back at these posts as a relic of some bygone time.

Bill Kasuga, Yoichi Nakase and George Aratani are indeed credited as the founders of Kenwood. Kenwood was later sold to Trio, and they used the far better known brand name of Kenwood from then on.

What I don't understand is the purpose of avoiding water... no shampoo or shower for 30 days?! No wonder new moms are supposed to stay inside during this time... they stink and no one wants to be publicly exposed to their funk!
