Kishorit is one of my favourite places and projects. What they achieve is truly remarkable, quite apart from the fact that as it is a home for life it is a great weight off the shoulders of the parents of the people who are lucky enough to life there. Their new special centre for Arabs and the mixed kibbutz they have built on the site for families are a model of what can be achieved in bringing people together to live in harmony and to sow glimpses of hope that peace could be possible

I am more than a little surprised by the glowing claims of Mark Brown about the forthcoming play The Siege. I suppose the first clue to his bias comes in saying that Nablus is in 'Palestine' Sadly until the Palestinians agree to be a party to peace negotiations and also recognise Israel as the Jewish state within whatever borders can be agreed, there is no such place as Palestine. That aside I take issue with a number of points in the review. That it is an excellent piece of theatre there is no doubt. That its director claims than none of those of us who questioned its truth and accuracy is in itself untrue, as I can personally vouch having seen it when it was in Manchester, along with quite a few of my friends. However I take serious issue with some of the claims about what actually happened, as do some other people who have reviewed it.
Firstly the impression given that the church was under heavy fire given by the video footage shown and heard in the background is a complete lie. So too is the impression that there was no opportunity for the terrorists inside the church to give themselves up and release the many civilians held hostage with them. There is so much selective memory throughout the play that it is impossible to list it all. Suffice it to say that the people who sought refuge in the church, knowing full well it would not be stormed or attacked by the Israel Defence Forces because of their respect for other religions holy places, were know terrorists with blood of many innocent civilians on their hands, not the innocent persecuted people they are portrayed as. Similarly some of the opinions and allegations in the one-sided biased discussion that took place after the performance do not stand up to scrutiny. Other reviewers who have written about the Siege do not share Mark Brown's rose tinted spectacles he has because of his previously know views of the conflict and I would be more than happy to share them with any readers who are interested in hearing both sides of this complicated and misrepresented story

I signed because I believe it is a basic Human Right for parents to be able to have quality holiday time with there children but this needs to be able to be at a time when prices are not at a premium because everyone is forced to take holidays within the same limited period, and also to be at a time of their choice that suits their work obligations

It is hard to see how any thinking intelligent individual who is willing to look at facts rather than ill informed biased fiction about Israel can label Israel apartheid.. It is probably the least apartheid country in the world with its cultural, religious and racial mix with Jews, Muslims, Druse, Bedouin, Christian, Bahai and many others living alongside each other in peace. It also offers full equality to women, gays and lesbians, unlike all surrounding countries where they are discriminated against and in many cases are subject to death threats.

There are so many other examples that could be added to Mr Ostroff's excellent picture of the reality of Israel. Minority groups in the Knesset free to criticise their own government, Arab and Druse judges in the courts, Arab, Druse and Bedouin diplomats serving their country around the world, and more and more Arabs volunteering to serve in the IDF Israeli and Palestinian doctors and nurses serving alongside each other in Israeli hospitals, hundreds of patients from surrounding Arab countries coming to Israel for treatment

The only way for Roger Waters to offer an informed opinion whether or not there is apartheid in Israel is to go to see for himself. When, if at all,,was the last time he visited? Or, like most BDS supporters, is he basing his .opinion on misinformation and second hand lies?

And with the greatest respect I cannot see how a man who uses imagery of an inflated pig with a Magen David on it can claim he is not antisemitic.

If he went to Israel, performed to a totally mixed audience of the mix that makes Israel the unique country it is, saw

the reality on the streets, the beaches, the hospitals, the restaurants,the buses, indeed absolutely everywhere and if he viewed that with open eyes and an open mind I venture to suggest it would be hard for him to justify his misguided claim that the term "apartheid" has any place in Israel
