I'm not saying that at all, what I'm saying is that the physical number of users actually playing Pocket Legends is likely to be much higher on the Android platform, simply due to the smaller selection of items vying for their attention.

And you seem to be making the assumption that Pocket Legends is one of those "larger" apps. I don't recall ever seeing it on the top 25 lists on my device.

I could be wrong of course, and again, I'm not dissing the Android platform in any way, I'm just saying that purely by the numbers, Android users have far fewer options in front of them.

I'm making an assumption here of course, that the higher profit stems from a larger active user base. The article doesn't mention the number of users involved on either platform.

I know this has likely been said in other comments, but having actually played Pocket Legends, I can attest that it is not in fact a very good game, and the higher revenues are very likely a reflection of the more limited selection in the Android store, and not the installed user base.

I could be wrong, but I don't think I am. I'm not dissing the Android ecosystem at all, but I just don't think this evidence is very telling.

I've been waiting for someone to point this out. The first announcement that I heard of the playbook was from the CEO, and I believe he said something like "RIM has the most advanced tablet in the world today."

I remember thinking, "Wouldn't it be nice if they shared it with the world?"

Not that I think the AIR stuff they're doing is going to even put a dent in the market, but who knows. Either way, thanks for ranting about this. I've been doing that in my head for a long while.

Same functionality as grabup, but with video screengrabs too. And free to upload anything to your own server instead of a hosted service.
