I actually watched it as a kid. It was a cartoon but the first episode had someone say "damn" which in the 90s was enough for upset parents to shut it down.

Re: My worst tech decision: A G Suite account for personal use - Android Authority

Comment cross posted from where I linked to this in LinkedIn:

I've been using gSuite since 2011, and regretting it since around 2014. My entire online identity is tied to this account, including thousands (yes, THOUSANDS) of apps, books, and movies/TV purchases. It would take weeks to properly migrate away, and would still require me to either tie my phone to multiple accounts or lose these purchases. I've often found myself close to doing so anyway, but hasn't seemed worth the trouble. When Google started saying they were going to begin CHARGING for this sub-par experience (had it been better, or even equivalent, i would have been happy to pay!) I did some proper research to find out what would be involved. I'm not quite sure what it'll take to push me over the edge, but when something does, I will not be migrating to a gmail.com account within the same ecosystem. They have taken gSuite, which consists of their most loyal users and alienated us to the point of looking elsewhere for similar services. This could be a textbook example of how NOT to maintain customer relations.

Re: Star Trek: The Next Generation Characters, Ranked in Order of Awesomeness

That is the main thing i took from this article.

Re: Forget PIN Numbers, Apple Wants to Let You Unlock Your iPhone With Your Face

If Apple gets a patent on that, even after their competition had shipped the same thing, it makes me wonder if I can patent my idea of a portable computer, where the keyboard and screen are attached by a hinge? Since MetroPCS doesn't have contracts, all their phones cost more than most other carriers. Odds are this will be closer to, if not over, $200. But at $50 a month, for unlimited talk, text, and data, that is still a damn good deal.

Re: Best Linux Password Manager ~ Web Upd8

If you are using Linux, why in <deity>'s name would you change OS?

Re: Best Linux Password Manager ~ Web Upd8

Why not? I first heard about LastPass when I switched to Chromium, and now love it. I really appreciate the various methods of two-factor authentication, including the low-tech grid that just requires you print a page and keep it in your wallet.

Re: [Linux] Block Ads in Any Browser

I prefer Privoxy as my multi-browser ad-blocker. It blocks based on hostname, but can also do all sorts of other nifty things, such as making all cookies (except from certain domains) delete at the end of the session, or blocking ads from hosts that you like (such as greatnewssite.com/ads/banne... would not be easily block-able with /ets/hosts, but is blocked by the default rules in Privoxy. You can also override blocked pages, and configure Privoxy to your own liking. Privoxy is an open source project (no, I don't work for/on it) located at http://privoxy.org

Re: Ping.fm / Uploaded Image from nixie

I miss the KER-CHUNK feel when you insert these, and the whole lever system on the front of the drive. If I happened to trigger it while using FF for dev work, when I am a Chromium user, it wouldn't be that accurate. And if on the off chance I triggered it accidentally on a friend's computer, so it showed IE, then I'd have to commit seppuko just to clear my name. :-) Actually it's not that big a deal, I was just curious.

Re: Addon Adhesive

I have Glue for Chrome and Firefox installed. It works well. The differences from a tag are you can subscribe to a category there, and if you use a category (group) that you aren't subscribed to it is not posted to that group. This is somewhat of an advanced feature but is one of my favorites on identi.ca.

Re: Day One: Wow

How come RT: is a standard?
