I wanted you to have the last word, but I have to address your confusion over my comment on his racial makeup. I do not see it as a disqualifier. I see it as something that folks foolishly used to believe Obama symbolizes America, as if his racial diversity means that his ideas are more in tune with the changing America.

I know you are not defending Obama. My point is that you seem too enamored with defending whimsical idealism. Obama will not save anyone, nor will his party, Gloria.

Now, if you are still interested, you may have the last word, I promise. Unlike a politician, I keep my vows.

What were Obama's qualifications for president? Mixed racial status in a country that accepts that status too liberally? His time as a drug user in college? His role as a community organizer? What does he know about foreign policy or handling the economy???!?!?!?!?!? His stimulus plan and healthcare reform are bogus!

I do not want Palin to run for president, but Obama, simply because he has a Harvard degree, which is a "nice personal attribute," does not qualify either! I heard this joke on Obama's arrogance. What is the difference between God and Obama? God does not think he is Obama!

You will see Obama's credibility sink in 2010 when the Dems lose more seats in Congress. Then, in 2012, once he loses the election, he can go pursue his true calling, discussing the wonders of teleprompters.

As for McCain's choice of Palin, I suppose you have something against family women who are firmly against abortion, extreme spending, and firm belief in God? As for her calling Africa a country, I recall a clip in which Obama announced, while visiting his 48th state, that he had visited 58 states and planned to visit the other two. Research his gaffe. Biden is such a huge improvement over Palin?!?!?! Wow! You have just given me an early Christmas present, uncontrollable laughter.

America, since at least Teddy Roosevelt's administration, has sought to police the world. The number of troops that America has stationed in any country matters far less than America's penchant for affluence. You are wrong, Mr. Cardella, to say that America is the global guest who never left. Nice metaphor, but here is another one for you; America is the uninvited pest who is immune to all repellents. All future presidents will follow in Teddy's steps.

I agree with Mr. Menendez about The Beatles. With respect to The Beatles, I have the misfortune of having been born in 1979, nine years after their split. Even my secondhand experience with them has enabled me to see them as the greatest entertainers. I have never understood the Sinatra fascination. Perhaps I will need more secondhand knowledge of him to cave!
