I heard about NIN and Radiohead, but not the NOVA one. However, I was looking more specifically for people using the Public Domain as NIN and NOVA used a Creative Commons license.

Anyways, great blog. I've subscribed to your feed.

Re: The Importance of our Public Domain (and Why I'm Giving Away Some of My Work) » articles » will work for art

Hey Brad!

Great post on the public domain. Glad to see you will be using the public domain on some of your works. I was wondering if you knew off the top of your head any notable people who dedicated works to the public domain. I'm trying to compile a list here.

http://setfree.wik.is/

Re: Putting photos into public domain

Hello!

Just wanted to let you know that I added you to the Wikipedia article called "List of notable people who dedicate works to the public domain"

Do you happen to know anyone else that should be added to the list?

Re: Ninja Cat Comes Closer Without Moving

Same cat video set to Jaws Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Why Do I See So Many Open Source Advocates Using Twitter?

Also if you are coming from a different status update service besides Twitter like Jaiku, Plurk, Pownce, etc... you can use www.ping.fm to bridge. They even have a jabber/gtalk bot. I signed up for beta and it took less than 24 hours to get in. If you need an invite code contact me

http://identi.ca/jorel314

Re: My Crash Course in Businessing

Hey Felicia!

I used to run a videography business, and I understand your pain.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with on demand services. Basically with an on demand service, you send in a master copy and the service takes care of the fulfillment for you. That includes receiving payment, burning the DVD, printing labels, inserts and covers, stuffing DVD cases, packaging the DVD, and shipping.

Advantages of on demand are you don't have to do any of the labor. You can focus on your next video project instead. Also, you don't have to order a large quantity of DVD copies for inventory and hope you sell them all.

Instead, you see how much the on demand service charges you per copy and you set your DVD price to consumers higher than that and you'll profit on every single copy. They make each DVD as it's ordered (hence "On Demand").

Here's a link to an on demand service I have experience with:
http://www.createspace.com/...

Anyways, I thought I'd share another option for you. Looking forward to your next video projects.

Re: Cradlepoint CTR500 Personal Wi-Fi Hotspot Mobile EV-DO Router

Most people already have the necessary hardware to create a mobile hotspot.

- 3g Phone with USB DUN or Bluetooth DUN or PAN
- Laptop with Wifi

When I went to Disneyland and didn't want to pay for wifi at the hotel, I just tethered my 3g phone to my laptop and shared that connection over wifi to my familly, so they could play their PSP's.
