I’ll be watching your efforts with great interest and excitement.

Re: Techmeme gets an iPhone app, not made by Techmeme, that you have to pay for

I have written a nicer app for Techmeme, called Techmeme Mobile (http://www.itunes.com/apps/.... It has search and a much nicer UI, and will tell you which articles are from today, yesterday, and before yesterday. It currently lacks some of the more advanced features that you mention you would like in a Techmeme app, but I think that you would be at least more satisfied with it than with “Tech News”.

Re: The Finest grind

A test comment.

Re: Attention: Fake Steve is now Real Dan

Dammit, I hate this. Fake Steve was the best. Why did you have to end it? You suck.

Re: I am so friggin high it's not funny

WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????//

Re: This site inspired me

What's with this Real Dan crap? We want the old Fake Steve back. Shame on you.

Please, bring this back to normal. We don't want Nikolai, Real Dan, Iulia or Jerry or anyone, just Fake Steve. You are killing this site.

Re: I really want my readers opinion on this

I don't care really, because I always middle-click links, to open them in a new tab. I guess, if I had to choose I would pick the same window, so like Mark Trapp says, it doesn't break the back button. Anyway, if a site is worth staying on, I will open any links in a new tab, so it probably won't make a difference either way.

As a writer in the past I have always had my outgoing links open in new windows, but I wonder if that is kind of jerkish of me.

Re: A note to grammar and spelling police – KMA!

Steven, no one who respects you and your blog like I do would try to correct you with the objective of making you look like an idiot. My comment was a poke at the hypercorrectionism that some readers, including myself, can exhibit. The fact that I was completely wrong and off-base makes it in my mind even more amusing, that in attempting to make fun of the people whom you were writing about ("grammar and spelling police"), I became one of them.

Cheers.

Re: A note to grammar and spelling police – KMA!

OK, you got me... I had no idea that it was a word; now that I know, I still probably won't ever use it. "Wording" in this context seems a good enough word to me.

I might say though, that the interchanging of Latinate words for simpler Germanic words rather bugs me. It seems, except when used in jest as in this post, to be a way to impress one's erudition upon other people.

As we have noticed, I happen to be one of those people who joys himself in correcting other people's grammar, &c., and on occasion, I can find myself in the awkward position of hypercorrectionist.

I wholeheartedly agree with the premise of your post, though; there is nothing more annoying than having to pay attention to little details when just trying to say something quickly about something.

Re: A note to grammar and spelling police – KMA!

Steven, "verbiage" isn't even a real word! :)
