He says "the working poor are both the majority of the population and the majority of the tax payers...". This is a LIE!

50% of the U.S. tax payers (the half which are the "working poor") pay only 2.89% of ALL personal income tax paid to the government! AND a great portion of these people don't pay ANY PERSONAL INCOME TAXES AT ALL...Yet WE pay THEM!!! ...the poorist wage earners not only pay no tax, but we pay them refunds on taxes they never paid!
This could be what socialist/Marxists call redistributing the wealth...

Just a simple thought expeeriment:

If the Palistinians and surrounding Anti-Isreal Countries 'laid down their arms'....then peace would follow.

If Isreal 'laid down her arms'...then all her Jews would be summarily slaughtered, and the country usurped by Palistinians (who would eventually be oppressed by other Muslim countries/factions).

Too many Christians rewrite history when they claim so much influence of Judeo-Christian traditions in the establishment of U.S. law and the Constitution (we must look to the likes of John Locke, English Common Law, etc.).

Yet, "speaking out against self-righteous" must not only include the religeous right, but must also include the insidious leftists. These instigators can be equally, or more, dangerous; as their hypocracy and sophistry also lead to eventual tyranny (yes, separation of church and state; but with statism becoming the new religion--ala Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Chavez, and all the other "Dear Leaders"):

Now I don't just think that you are a socialist instigator....I think that you also show yourself to be diluded by so blatantly and openly expressing it. Every line of your last comment smacks of the "big lie" radicallism spouted by Marxist revolutionaries (only they, like you, won't openly pronounce their socialist proclivities--they dupe the public with lines like "this isn't socialism" or "Our country has been steadily moving towards the right since the Reagan administration.."). In George Orwell's novel "1984" it was called "doublespeak" (lies) (GOOGLE it for an education)--Used by the socialist oppressors to control and confuse the people...up is down, good is bad, black is white, moving left is moving right.

Yeah...since Reagan: Our government hasn't gotten bigger? The government hasn't taken charge of more property? Our government hasn't increased tax and spend deficits and debt? Less laws and regulations over business and citizens have been written? NOT!

You say one is a trader to his nation if he chooses profit margin over your government....!! Well, ONLY IN A SOCIALIST OR COMMUNIST SYSTEM. Tell that to Patrick Henry, George Washington, James Madison, John Adams, or the Boston Tea Party "indians"... They were the ones that went on to write that Preamble to the U.S. Constitiution; and they would condemn your perverse interpretation of it....or of America's (and government's) relationship to Liberty. The Constitution was placed as a LIMIT ON GOVERNMENT to PROMOTE LIBERTY and protect the People from Tyranny. Did you learn nothing from Pilgrim Leader William Bradford's experiments in socialism (half the people die) and in capitalistic profit (prosperity resulted)? That's the kind of Prosperity our forefathers invisioned in our Constitution! They studied past governments, including that of the Plymouth Colony.

You can deny our "movement towards socialism" all you like; but most of the people can fairly perceive your agruments as the sly and perverse argument of a socialist who is trying to 'fly under the radar.' Are you in favor of the movement and direction of Hugo Chavez? Will you claim he is no socialist? He only wants to 'protect' the people from the "Free Traders", from the radio stations, from the newspapers, from the oil companies, and now from the friggin GOLF COURSES (owned by those who "choose profit margin over their government")!

Again, one only needs to look at your laughable socialist 'doublespeak': "Socialized medicine is not a movement towards creating a socialist nation here in the U.S." ...Oh yeah...On what planet?

"Workers" is a group (collectivism, in a sense), whereas "individuals" are what represent what is most respected in American philosophy (I notice that you deem to capitalize 'Socialism', 'Republican', and even 'Third World'...but not 'american'....that's very One World of you...and could reflect a mind set of collectivism over individualism....You sound like Pilgrim and socialist William Bradford BEFORE half of them died, and taught them lesson of human nature in governance--respect the individual's freedom).

How can you say that our country is not moving towards socialism in any way?! We are discussing the SOCIALISATION of health care.

Objectively: Government has greatly grown over the decades, and its power over individuals....and the economy under greater govenment control grows almost exponentially....and the amount if income paid to all levels of governmentof by working and TAX-PAYING individuals is projected to soon surpass those of openly solcialist countries!! So objectively we are moving towards statism/socialism.

Imparative "to compete with other labor markets..."!

What reymundoarmendariz calls "the working class" is rapidly shrinking in America precisely because of ever increasing nationalization (statism). The "working class" doesn't hire people--what are they going to do as most of our "corporate monoliths" are going overseas. The working clase will become the plantation workers of the ever increasing welfare/bureaucratic/oppressive "big mommy state." Socialism is where the government 'owns' most of the business/property.... Fascism is where business/property is in "so called private" hands, but its the Government (think Chicago Thug Politicians) that pulls all of their puppet strings. Either way ITS TYRANNY... and everything that we should detest. The individual is who loses his power, identity, and liberty.

Read the study that came out last week about why Britain is losing its work ethic due to Statism, Big Mommy Socialism.... (just go to Google News and Google "work ethic" and U. K.)

Also, some of the language (which nobody reads) in one of the lastest health care proposals ACTUALLY HAS THE DMV AS A PLACE TO GO TO WHERE YOU SIGN UP FOR YOUR GOV. HEALTH CARE!!! (no joke)

Pres. and Mrs. Obama totaled about 80 some sentences in their speeches to the commitee.... And they used various forms of the pronoun "I" about 76 times. If they didn't have very well founded knowledge of a Chicago final selection ahead of time, then they were naive and blinded by their on egos to make such a last minute and expensive sortie (White House leaks later confirmed their were not intending to make the trip until they were lobbied by people they may have been beholding to...).

If its true that Dr. Quick thinks that if Polanski, a confessed and convicted criminal, can escape and flee "on the lamb" for 30 years, and then can absolve himself in any way by having bought off his victims; then Quick must think that plying pubescent girls with drugs and alcohol, and raping them repeatedly even as they protest him to stop again and again, is an act that must be excused with the passage of time…and the passing of money...and the making of movies. It unwillingly makes the victims into the world’s oldest paid professionals!

Dr. Quick's Attorney would not like you calling Dr. Quick "Dr. Quack"! I have spoken to her personally on the phone; and she does not want any misrepresentations as to just what led to Quick's veterinary license being currently "Revoked, stayed--Probation" for 4 years by the State of California. Do not paraphrase anything in his Disciplinary Order. And she is right! Facts are simply facts...and there is no point in name-calling.

In his comments Dr. Quick reveals hypocrisy when he so strongly advocates “socialism” or “socialized medicine” when he then goes on to openly admit “As a business owner I (Quick) struggle to afford good health care, but cannot afford to give the same care to my many deserving employees.” He exemplifies the “NIMBY thing” himself. Under a new socialized medicine, does he not expect to pay for his employee’s medical care as a taxpayer? Generally, socialists love socialism; and even more so they love Animal Farm’s socialist pigs, who are “more equal” than the other animals.

When appraised historically the lesson we learn about socialism is that it seldom works. All its ‘successes’ are torturously defined by the socialists themselves (hypocrisy not withstanding).

Perhaps with the Thanksgiving Holiday on the horizon we might consider America’s first organized English import of socialism. Dr. Quick points to England’s socialized medicine in his anecdotal example of his 2 year experience in that "Kingdom". Lets keep in mind Dr. Quick’s simplistic, hypocritical, and pejorative assessment of capitalism (and what he apparently tells his employees), "I've got mine, what you get is your problem", as we reconsider the events surrounding the first Thanksgivings of our English forefathers:

The experiment with socialism by the Pilgrims lasted only one year or so…and significantly contributed to the result of half of them dying. In his journals William Bradford, leader of the new Plymouth Plantation, documents the utter failure of their rather pure form of socialism. Then, he went on to quickly confirm his negative evaluation of collectivism by his immediate and successive counter-experiment; he ordered pure capitalism be practiced, and prosperity quickly and successfully followed.

Here is William Bradford’s own assessment of socialism written nearly four centuries ago:

“The experience that was had in this common course and condition, tried sundry years and that amongst godly and sober men, may well evince the vanity of that conceit of Plato's and other ancients applauded by some of later times; that the taking away of property and bringing in community into a commonwealth would make them happy and flourishing; as if they were wiser than God. For this community (so far as it was) was found to breed much confusion and discontent and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort. For the young men, that were most able and fit for labour and service, did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men's wives and children without any recompense." (William Bradford brilliantly describes the prototypes of Orwell’s socialist pigs of Animal Farm.)

And Bradford’s assessment of the freedom of the capitalistic system: “This had very good success, for it made all hands very industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been by any means the Governor or any other could use, and saved him a great deal of trouble, and gave far better content."

As portrayed in George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm, we must be cautious of some of the farm’s animals (the pigs—socialist instigators, and eventual oppressors) because they are hypocrites, and hold themselves “more equal” than the rest of us. We have only to look at our own lawmakers; they vote to themselves the best of medical care and pensions while contemplating a separate and non-equal system for the rest of us.

I'm glad Dr. Quick thinks that he risks "boring" his readers.
