Liz, thank you for this post. I wasn't a participant this year for one reason: The attitudes of Frank and Ken - the new owners of ITVFest. And Ken's email to the producers and participants speaks for itself. Unprofessional, childish, hurtful and down right nasty. I, for one, have experienced their "If you don't like it, we'll take our ball and go home" personally. I did not want to expose myself to such disrespect again.

I'm disappointed in them. They took something wonderful and tarnished it - leaving a bad taste in everyone's mouths from what accounts I have read. There should be no room in our community for such rubbish.

The one obvious fact that is never mentioned is the cost of labor - from the film crew to the actors to the post production team. Yes, the show's producer spent less than $10K, but the money spent only covers physical costs: props, equipment rental, sound and makeup expendables and food (gotta feed your crew and actors!). Stating that the entire 10 eps COSTS less than $10K devalues the work of those who volunteered their time in making this fantastic show.

Even if everyone was paid $100/day, this show and other web shows would "cost" much higher than $10K.

Well, to put it as clearly as I may... I'm befuddled by AMC's statement that they are to be an online destination to "incubate and to develop web series" from "up-and-coming talent". Other than the director I doubt very much that Adam Goldberg and Jeffrey Tambor are "up-and-coming" talent...

Looking forward to it... but I do have to point out one major flaw. Just shoot the damn dirty apes! Sheesh, there's only 100 or so of them. Unless the apes were smart enough to steal all the drugs and dope up their fellow monkeys at all the zoos. Then that's a lot of poo-flingers you have to contend with...

Lon, thank you for saying what I was screaming in my head. I couldn't get through the first two minutes (1 minute by their clock). It's not interesting. I don't care about Sobel. He's not funny. The premise is good, but it is wasted by everyone playing it to be "the big internet show joke".

I would put Sobel behind the keyboard and put Willard on for the full 3 minutes.
