Great ideas Nick. This is a solid formula. I hadn't thought about Wikipedia or Knol, but that's mainly because of the constant edits. I'll have to remember that in the future.

Excellent post. I didn't know about the emerging value of a brand in search marketing, but thinking about it logically with the emergence of social media on the web and the proliferation of brands in that medium, I guess it would be expected that Google would try to connect the dots between all instances of a brand.

I was in the same boat. At first, the outrage of it made me angry, but really, what media group really needs to be a funeral. Sure, I can see it for heads of state or religious leaders (like the Pope from a few years ago), but for a 3 year old I think it's a matter of respect. You're there, yes as a reporter, but you also show respect.

I almost didn't notice the redesign because of Google Reader. I honestly heard about it on Twitter.

Love the new design. it keeps it clean and simple and encourages the user to read a lot more with the teaser.

If someone passes a business card to me, I copy the info down into my contact database and put the card some where. If the card gets lost after that, who cares.

I agree that having an SMS solution would be best, but it does beget problems for those without an iPhone or smartphone.
