I think you're absolutely crazy to consider Season 6 sub par. It's one of the best seasons IMO. I've found every episode hysterical, and I think they approached whole the season in a really novel way, giving all the characters so many completely new things to do. For me it's totally worked and I don't think it's ever been more brilliant. I've especially loved all the Catherine/Marjorie time. Two exceptions: Amy was underused this season, and Mike has become so dumb it's unbearable to watch him. Otherwise, I'm a little disappointed that 7 isn't go to go further in this vein, but instead (it seems) back to its more traditional format.

Same here - NDT tends to talk over his guests, and with this episode it finally hit me how obnoxious it is! In this case I really wanted to hear Dr. Marcus's POV, but he seemed to be dismissed from the get go. Really poor form.

One of the best movies, ever. Jim Carey, Kate Winslet and Kirsten Dunst are all brilliant. Just brilliant. I can never get over how good this movie is.

Did Tori Amos really say in concerts that she thinks Courtney Love killed Kurt Cobain? I didn't know that... I have always heard that Professional Widow was about Courtney Love though I don't see a super obvious reference there personally (maybe I'm just dumb?)

You know what I noticed on the "Here Lies Love" stuff? Tori sounds really good vocally! I hadn't paid the slightest attention as I'm not a David B fan or anything and don't know a great deal about Imelda Marcos, but after listening to the samples and reading a bit from his site, it seems pretty intriguing. Anyway, I like the Tori songs.

God. I *so completely agree* that the Jon Brion version is the real deal. Good point on her next album, I hadn't even considered it but Molly's right, very excited to see what she comes up with!

Stories is definitely a good album but for my money Uh Huh Her and White Chalk are the *best* PJ records.

But on Stores, I've always been a We Float and This Mess We're In kinda guy.

I would HAVE to agree that PJ Harvey just gets better with time and age! Uh Huh Her and White chalk are absolutely amazing albums.

I never got interested Bjork, never paid any attention.

As for Tori... every album has its undeniable gems, but the last two had MANY craptacular tracks for my taste. Count among these, Goodbye Pisces, Ribbons, Secret Spell and Programmable Soda. Why god why? And what on earth does she hope to gain by wearing ugly wigs? I digress...

Earthquakes through Choirgirl... now those were just stunning, breathtaking, almost unbelievably good records. Maybe it's just not fair to compare them against anything else. But anyway, I wish she could say 'when' better, pick the best 12 tracks, or better yet, let someone else pick the best 12 tracks (forgo the 17, 18, 19!! tracks per album model), let the music do its own talking, and never, ever record "Fat Slut 2".

I think AATS is going to be on par (i.e. sub par) with TBK, or below, based on the songs I've heard so far. why is nobody telling her, your voice sounds bizarre and bad? these songs start nowhere and go nowhere? remember when your music was astonishing? Too true on the chart, too true.
