I was annoyed for some time about the people announcing "Oh we're totally working on this" then refused to release their homework for anyone else to use. So good on them. It likely needs more work but this is cool.

Re: US steam

Just when I was about to buy Songs of Conquest.....

Re: hpp-index

thank you

Re: Sega Saturn Sakura Wars Fan Translation Is Completed And Now Available

IDK if anyone answered you, but what I wound up doing is copying over the save game files, then naming them Disk 2.

For example, if Disk 1 is "SW_Eng_Disc1_v1", and disk 2 is "SW_Eng_Disc2_v1", then copy all of your save files named SW_Eng_Disc1_v1.* to SW_Eng_Disc2_v1.* and you can continue playing.

Let me know if that answered the question.

Re: Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk (Region Free) PC

I'm having an issue with these files. I've checked the MD5 hash, and both the Mega and mediafire seem the same. However, I'm getting errors on file 4 and 6, and the final ISO is only 500 MB in size. Could we have a recheck to make sure the files are correct?

I see the issue - I opened up the archive, and it's showing 3 copies of the .ISO file according to 7-zip: the first two are 500 MB, the last one is 1.5 G. Odds are the archive files got mangled a little. Just FYI.

Edit 2: Further testing - the Mega files for 1, 2, and 3 show the same MD5 hash: aa91099772159da9400eb7a37560a37a . MediaFile shows 1 as that, but 2 as b6faf3848a49fb2b9a46bc2575cd1e75 and 3 as 61d5e003133625db76722f280d17bc46 . I'm betting Mega messed up the files for some reason.

Re: Shining Resonance (JPN) PS3 ISO

This is getting a US release on the PS4 sometime this year, if I recall correctly.

Re: The Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki (CHI) PC

There's a patch in progress for the PSP versions. Makes perfect sense.

Re: Fact check: Romney's welfare claims wrong

The language from the executive order:

>Thus, HHS has authority to waive compliance with this 402 requirement and authorize a state to test approaches and methods other than those set forth in section 407, including definitions of work activities and engagement, specified limitations, verification procedures, and the calculation of participation rates. As described below, however, HHS will only consider approving waivers relating to the work participation requirements that make changes intended to lead to more effective means of meeting the work goals of TANF.

The waver clearly states "...HHS will only consider approving waivers relating to the work participation requirements that make changes intended to lead to more effective means of meeting the work goals of TANF." Sorry - but you don't get to claim "he's allowing people to not to have welfare to work!" when the requirement clearly spells out "You can't get a waver unless you include a welfare to work system."

Re: Fact check: Romney's welfare claims wrong

Oh so close! There's one problem, however:

>Those waivers were granted by Obama.

BEEEP! Sorry, the process is:

1. Obama released an executive order stating that wavers *could* be granted when the states made their offer, *as long as it includes a welfare to work requirement that was as good if not better than the current requirement*.

2. No wavers have been granted yet.

So why don't we wait until we see what States come up with, and *if* their plan is "just give people money without a plan of getting them off of Welfare", and *if* the federal government approves, *then* we can talk about what wavers were actually granted. Right now, the current language states:

>Thus, HHS has authority to waive compliance with this 402 requirement and authorize a state to test approaches and methods other than those set forth in section 407, including definitions of work activities and engagement, specified limitations, verification procedures, and the calculation of participation rates. As described below, however, HHS will only consider approving waivers relating to the work participation requirements that make changes intended to lead to more effective means of meeting the work goals of TANF.

Yeah. doesn't look like your claim holds any water.

Re: Ultima 9: Ascension (Part 2)

Just to add to the excitement:

I still haven't played IX. I think I did about 5 minutes of the "run around the Avatar's house on Earth" stuff, and then quit.

But - betrayal is the right word here. I grew up on Ultima. I started playing Ultima III back when they were bootlegging the 5.25" disks for the Apple II computers (where if you used a hold puncher you could make them too sided oh hell yeah), and Ultima IV changed my life.

I'm serious. I was a kid raised in a religious fundamentalist home, and that game gave me another way of looking at the world that my brainwashing kept out. Instead of a wrathful god who was going to kill me for even thinking about a nekked girl - there was this idea that you could base decisions off of simple virtues: upholding Truth, Courage and Love. Perhaps no better than some philosophies - but it helped.

And to wade through Ultima VIII, and then see what happened in Ultima IX. Yeah. Betrayal. It could have been a great story of someone redeeming themselves after destroying an entire world to save two, or of someone who has reached the pinnacle of existence sacrificing it all.

But - no. And for that, we mourn.

Re: Kidnapped for Christ: documentary about children whose parents rendered them to offshore militarized discipline camp

And this is relevant because - why? Last time I checked, the Waldorf doesn't engage in human rights violation and torture as depicted in some of these military Jesus "cure the gay out of you" camps. On the one side, they're trying to be helpful, to be relevant to the times.

I do like your concept on Zelda or Mario. I've been having my daughter read the Bible and the Tezuka Buddha manga series, and explaining "The stories likely aren't true, like the creation, Isrealites building the pyramids, the 10 plagues. But these are great stories, and some of them hold useful lessons. The problem is when you're more worried about proving them 'true' as it is deciding if they're telling you about something 'good' or 'bad' - and even then, if they're getting it right."

There could be some interesting games based on Bible literature - but too often the people interested in those are too busy moralizing than they are in either being entertaining or even ethically right.

Re: Duels of the Planeswalkers, or how I learned to stop worrying and love Magic again.

Did you pick up the Xbox or the PC version?
