Haha, ouch, okay you got me. I may have misspoken, and completely take your point. I don't actually want Tony Blair to be PM and didn't think my original comment would be taken as an endorsement of Labour policy. I really did enjoy the above mentioned going at it every Wednesday though. In high school I would watch Politically Incorrect and then flip over to C-SPAN and watch the PMQs. Imagine how laid in high school I got.

This is why I strip the DRM from my books and have them stored in my Gmail, Dropbox, and on my hard drive. And it's the article on Calibre that Boing Boing pointed me to that helped me do that. Thanks, guys!

The criticism of Android that most confounds me is that assertion that Android has an 'ease of use' problem. As if it's developed in such a way that makes people think that it's trying to be sophisticated but actually just turns out to be confusing.
What is it about iOS that makes it so much easier to use? Is it the fact that every single device is essentially the same as the devices before it? Excepting speed and a camera, what has significantly changed about the device? Nothing, I see how you could find it easier to move from device to device and find the experience "easy".

Really? No, REALLY? I think Android's success couldn't disagree with this more. Android takes a lot of crap because it offers some less desirable phones. A cost-conscious friend wanted an Android device but didn't want to pay out the nose for it. So she got a Samsung (some type in the Galaxy family) on Boost which is on Sprint's network. It's nowhere near as good as my Evo 4G. But it's not terrible and she has unlimited everything like me. The difference is I pay $94/month compared to her $55. Please understand that there are young and poor people who want (and now are able to afford) a smartphone. And I'll bet they outnumber the more affluent customers.

Don't like the Xoom's browser pointing you to mobile sites? Change the UAS string:

1. Open Browser
2. Type "about:debug" into the address bar
3. Open up Settings -> Debug -> UAString
4. Pick your poison (desktop ftw)

It really is that simple. Though, to be fair Apple does it all for you and Ignorance is Bliss.

Tons of us "bots" have been drooling over the iPad waiting to see if an Android tablet was going to come along that would be worth buying. Galaxy Tab was a dissapointment. The Xoom seems to be pretty exciting though.

It's kinda like the iPhone, after a while Android had to come up with an answer to it. I'm glad to say that all my iFriends are jealous of my EVO. The funniest thing about iPhone 4 was Facetime... how were they going to claim they invented video chatt on a mobile when EVO came out months before and had that capability (3G/4G as well as WiFi)?

What irks me about Apple is they have the gall to piss in peoples' faces and call it rain and then expect to get away with it. Which, if I really think about it, shouldn't as people seem prefectly happy treating everything they hear from that corporation as gospel.
