They use a date book like the kind you'd buy at CVS for $7 and just rip the page out at the end of the night. (My wife and I ate at a similar place in Glenside last week that uses a copybook like the one I used in third grade.)

According to Detective Joe Murray at the PPD, this is "not a Law & Order episode." By the time the photo's location was identified as La Viola Ovest, there was no real reason for police to reach out to the management. That the party dined at La Viola Ovest is not the fact that the DA's office will have to prove here.

On the Twitter account that La Viola opened yesterday just to address the situation, they confirmed their commitment to cooperating in any investigation.

Re: On the Stupidity of the La Viola “Boycott”

My wife and I live a few doors down from La Viola. It's a small business, and the folks that work there HUSTLE. They hustle HARD. If I'm walking the dog after work, those servers are busting out extra tables on the sidewalk and in the alley to handle the demand from walk-up business. And when I'm walking the dog before bed, they're still taking care of the last few stragglers. The staff will actually run across the street between both locations to support each other when they're slammed. We've never had a bad meal there.

Think about where you work -- you don't always get to choose who walks into your establishment, and you definitely don't know what's in people's minds or hearts when you're serving them. (And, as a BYO, La Viola doesn't control what people drink, or how much.)

Re: All Of The Startups Are Eschewing Suburban Office Parks For City-Based HQs, Except In Philadelphia

Of course, this is 2011 data. 76 Capital and First Round (among others) moving within the city limits over the last year should significantly improve the figures once 2013 data becomes available.

Re: The Newest in Native: Editorial Reviews Reborn as Ads

When I read, "we worked with editorial to get their confidence in it," I hear, "we held meetings with editorial until they all quit, stopped coming, or cried."

Re: Disgusting: Rats at Green Eggs Cafe

If you're a manager of a restaurant or a retail establishment, is it EVER a good idea to let a camera crew tape your reaction to some footage they want to show you?

Re: Alex Day beats the industry, pirates shouldn’t keep you up at night, and Red Bull wants to promote music startups

The pleasure's all mine, Steve!

Re: Klip Collective creates 38-ft. tall projection of Big Ben for Flower Show

So glad you called this out—as a guy at the flower show who's not always totally into flowers, the Big Ben display was a huge highlight for me. With so much focus on spreading and "growth hacking," it's easy to overlook that building relationships on deeper idea exchanges can be far more meaningful (and profitable) than trying to scale on those same 12 bullet points.

Re: http://johnrossbowie.tumblr.com/post/30250888702

CBS is running this instead of the RNC on Monday, right?

Re: 20 Companies Using Computer-Generated Stories to Save Money on Writers - GalleyCat

Like Christine said, it sounds spreadsheet-like, but it does seem to mimic a lot of the stats-heavy sports reporting I hear on the radio these days.
