Looks good!! You are definitely right though, that at the very least, there is enough interest in the growth and business potential of lacrosse to warrant a $64 million dollar cash purchase.

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure Bauer with its market cap of ~$250 million might have a hard time convincing UA to sell considering its market cap of $5.2 Billion. :)

If anything, this acquisition reminds me of how far lacrosse has to go from a growth standpoint. One of the most recognizable, successful lacrosse brands who have arguably cornered the entire lacrosse helmet market, selling for $64M. What does that say about the potential for new lacrosse-focused businesses? Possibly a low ceiling for revenues in a tightly contested equipment market with well established players. No wonder UA/Nike/Adidas and others are just dipping their toes in.

I totally agree with this article, and I'd like to tack on an additional thought - Lacrosse needs a day. Maybe its Friday nights. Maybe its Saturday. Maybe its Sunday. Lacrosse is a growing sport and needs a simple concept to help make sense of it for new fans. One day, once a week when the vast majority of games are played. No more of this random Tuesday when we aren't paying attention. One day. On a trip? Do it around those days, but make the big game ON that day. Boom.

Regardless of whether or not you are a "club" team, leave the public trash talking to the fans. There should be professionalism and sportsmanship at every level of the game - whether it's Summer Club Ball, MCLA or NCAA D1. Talk shit all you want with your team behind the scenes.

What concerns me is that "club" has developed a pejorative connotation in most lax circles. Your restatement of the MUS student's question is a perfect example. "Is this club?" -- "Yes, this is MCLA.". Need to either change the perception or own the "club" term.

I could get used to a 60 second shot clock. What I really don't want to happen is complex team offensive systems to go the way of the Dodo simply because there isn't enough time. I love the MLL but it's frustrating at times to watch how much 1on1 dodging and unassisted goals there are - I know lack of practice time/cohesiveness is partially at fault here, but so is the fact that play is rushed due to the shot clock.

Kudos on the polarizing decals. Love to see teams taking more risks, you get bigger pay off. Trouble is you either come off looking like a stylish genius or an incompetent nerd. Many would rather go the safe route.

Three things.

1. Awesome game. I feel ashamed for living in Seattle and not witnessing it.

2. Stick checks are a great tool that has been provided to coaches. Good ones use them wisely.

3. I'm almost positive the coach was referring to other unseen game situations to refer to the team as classless. Even he in defeat must understand that stick checks are a tool. Regardless - when playing in and then losing the state championship - probably a bad time to air grievances.

Huge congrats to Bellevue - gotta freaking love this game!!
