I knew two ex-Vietnam War snipers (claimed) in the 1970s. I dealt with them and am fairly certain that they both wound up in prison doing life without parole.

In the 1980s, I knew an ex-sniper that I don't believe had been in Vietnam. He was drawing PTSD full compensation for whatever he had done in service. He could get and service any weapons that I wanted from flick knives to full machine guns. He told me that he had never paid a penny in income tax after the Reagan election.

Nothing good will come of training these men to kill in "cold blood."

Toward the end of the Second World War, the Soviet Union put an enormous amount of energy into trying to rehabilitate the "Wolf Children."

The orphans that were allowed to live by the kind hearted Germans that could murder parents without qualms but turned the children loose to live however they could. They formed bands for survival and some of them lived in the middle of battle from 1941 until after the war ended.

I've always wondered how that turned out.

I first read it in a samizdat in Russian in the 1960s.

In my last month on active duty in the Army, I turned in a huge number of military personnel for committing civil and military crimes. Altogether, I believe that my little whistle-blower program got 1,000+ criminals off of the Army payrolls.

There was no witness protection program, I had people calling me up for 7 to 9 years, threatening to kill me. I maintained multiple identifications and multiple residences and vehicles. When I got a call, I could be out of the area in 15 minutes with a grab and go bag and three concealed weapons.

Be a whistle blower again? Not a chance in hell.

When I ate C-rations in Vietnam, my unit had C-rats from 1945. They were semi-edible, but when I ate "turkey loaf," I puked and pitied my uncle who had been in constant combat from the invasion of North Africa until he deserted in the Battle of the Bulge. He had to have eaten that crap for months.

You want to eat chemicals that are 3 years old, feel free. The military will not care about quality but strictly about shelf life.

The first money that I earned was picking strawberries in a field when I was 4 or 5.

I put in my first crop when I was 4 and harvested and sold it when I was 5. The man at the market paid me five cents per watermelon and sold for ten cents. My brother finally got me to understand that I was screwed.

In high school, my father threw my older brother and I out of the house and we "followed the crops."

I worked 80 to 88 hours a week doing heavy labor in a mill to pay for college.

I am so sorry to have any child work. That people could actually accept this as right makes me physically ill.

When I was child in southwestern Oregon, the police would salvage meat from roadkill, take it to the nearest school that had a cafeteria and hang it outside.

All deer and bigger meat animals as far as I know.

I had only eaten beef stew in school. I'd never eaten it anywhere else.

When I did eat some somewhere else, it didn't taste the same.

I ate at a small restaurant in the hinterlands of Idaho. The beef stew was perfect. The wait staff told me that it was actually deer that had been poached.

Sorry about the crack. I find this to be an informed blog and I hate to see people sucked in by the nonsense.

What I meant was that if you pay attention to the supposed debt crisis, they have suckered you in.There is no debt crisis. There are lot of "national leaders" that are playing big stakes gambling in a rather coordinated rip-off of the American taxpayers.None of it is real. It is the propaganda machine ginning up hysteria about a fictitious problem.The Congressional Budget Office was asked to run numbers in June about what would happen if absolutely no changes were made and budget spending were made at the level of the last annual budget that actually passed.Their conclusion was that if the Bush tax giveaway to the rich were allowed to expire when it is supposed to and the budget were maintained at the same level, the economy would balance out in 10 years.

There would need to be some extra borrowing to bridge over the tax shortfall from the unemployed but that this could be on short term debt.

I went through this "sky is falling" crap when the banks decided to destroy the Savings and Loan business. The looting came with "deregulation" in the Carter administration. Then the regulators left were underfunded for the number of S & Ls they were supposed to regulate. Almost unanimously the remaining regulators were screaming about S & Ls being taken over by grifters and conmen who had no money. The Reagan Administration did practically nothing for 5 years. Then the propaganda machine ginned up trying to get all of the S & Ls shut down.

That went on for 5 or 6 years. There was no S & L crisis, there was a continuing looting of S & L by the rich, the banks and the politicians. The whole thing was wound up in a year with the taxpayer on the hook for the billion or so dollars that moved to the rich. There were only about 3 elected politicians in Washington, DC, that didn't get involved in "campaign contributions" "property refinancing" at low rates and wives, children and relatives being appointed directors of S & Ls that were being looted.

It was all buried by unanimous consent during the presidential election in 1992. Two bills passing out money to make the S & Ls able to pay their debts to the banks, the rich and the insurance companies and then liquidating a lot of the S & Ls.

Didn't even make a blip on the "news" since everyone was in on the scam and the "news" was focused on the election.

The new debt crisis does not exist. There is a coordinated effort to rip off the taxpayers for a lot more money, this time. There are simply too many rich, connected and politicians involved in this crap for it not to be a conjob, shuck and hustle. It extends into the Presidency, but it is not real.

There is none except Bernie Sanders in politics and absolutely no one in banking, insurance, gambling on the stock market, being a hedge fund manager, just being rich or the other sleazy things who would not short the American bonds to $0.25 on the face value. They would liquidate everything for cash. The corporations are sitting on almost $2 trillion in admitted cash. There is probably $3 to $5 trillion stashed away in off shore banks.

If the ceiling isn't raised, bonds will drop like stones on the market. The greedy thugs will buy at the bottom of the market before announcing that the first thing to be paid would be the bonds, before welfare payments, disability checks, nursing home costs, etc.

Bonds would rebound to their actual value. So the speculators would quadruple their value in a few months.

So the richest would swallow up between $24 and $30 trillion more of the wealth of the country. Guaranteed by the full faith and credit, property and sweat of the suckers who pay taxes.

An activist for we PTSD cases from Vietnam gave me a paper that said that the unit with the highest PTSD rate wasn't even in Vietnam. They were the people that coordinated the shipments of bits and pieces of people back home. Wounded and dead. Hell of a price to pay.

In the early 1970s, I worked as a carpenter and concrete foundation man in the mountains of Colorado. I was making $12.00 per hour, plus overtime for over 8 hours and over 40 hours in a week. I was approached to join a laborers union, but the pay was half of what I made and I already carried my own personal health insurance.

I have no idea of how these people can live on these wages and under these conditions.

I worked as a temp in the 1990s. I was making up to $15.00 per hour. I have no morals or regard for the standards of society. That crap got left in Vietnam with a lot of other nonsense that could have gotten me killed.

People could not understand how I made so much money when they were making half as much at permanent positions.

Real damned simple, I bribed the decision makers. Once you are in the door, no one checks on anything. If a temp position is raised in pay $2.00 a week, no one notices. No one reads the invoices from the temp place. In the 10 years that I worked as a temp, only one person checked to see how much I was making. I could hear him clear back in the rear of his department screaming, "He makes more than my secretary."

Only reason that he checked was that he had come in the morning after the 2000 presidential election and told me that he only needed xxx number of votes in Florida for Bush to win. I said, "I could care less if that draft dodging Ivy League coward is beaten. "

They have never ever been tested by independent laboratories.

I want to know how many of the antiques in the House and Senate are drawing Social Security retirement pay while they attack it. Raising the cap would, of course, be amended to exempt the crooks in Congress from means testing and an increase of any of their children's contributions.

I will bet $1000 to $50 that Joe Lieberman, John McCain, Orrin Hatch, and Ron Paul are drawing Social Security retirement funds. They are simply too cheap to resist it.

Hell, I will bet even odds that Barbara Boxer (filthy rich and greedy) is drawing Social Security benefits. I'll even bet that Nancy Pelosi (pure as driven snow) draws Social Security.
