I think Vista is a very secure operating system.  But the adoption of Vista has seen backlashes at Microsoft and people opting for XP downgrades due to performance issues.  Vista is a great operating system if you have the hardware to run it.  I myself run Vista on my home laptop, but it's a new laptop and has the horsepower to run it.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When I called Vista a failed operating system, I wasn't just taking into account the security and functionality of the operating system. Read a review here</title><link>http://www.mfrtech.com/articles/2364.html#comment-13984125</link><description>&lt;p&gt;There hasn't been much media coverage of Windows 7 outside of the internet news, so I can see where you  may not know when it is coming, or even of its existance.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Unfortunatley, there was a pre-order that just ended that allowed for less expensive upgrades, I think the upgrade for the Home Edition was around $50.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The only thing I can tell you is that if you have a good PC that is capable of running Vista, I'd stick with it.  If you are seeing performance issues, I'd consider downgrading to XP or purchasing an upgrade to 7.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you have multiple comptuers, or even neighbors that want to upgrade, maybe you all could chip in for the family pack and only have to pay $50 for each license.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Thanks for the post and good luck!&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Joe Baker</dc:creator><pubDate>Wed, 05 Aug 2009 12:05:59 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
