Like for instance, selling you on the value of the products.

@ Tanner: Clueless and frustrated!

Re: Manizesto - If your products stink, marketing won't help - Small Business Marketing Blog.

Paul, your experience is like so many others, which is why the positive response Chevy has gotten is so amazing. It is going to take a lot of money and a long, long time to build a reputation of quality. Most of the time, companies will simply get a new name for a product when the previous name has had a bad reputation; I'm not sure why GM decided against that in this case.

Re: Manizesto - Dunsity Award: Sports Authority - Small Business Marketing Blog.

Brian, good insight. It seems like in this case Sports Authority was looking to create the illusion of great customer service but didn't think through it well enough to find out that neither the organization nor the customer would end up with a "W".

How could they have overlooked that? I would guess lawyers had something to do with it.

Re: Manizesto - Dunsity Award: Sports Authority - Small Business Marketing Blog.

Someone's got to be accountable.

Re: Manizesto - Dunsity Award: Sports Authority - Small Business Marketing Blog.

Paul, interesting point. The "we miss you" message is often used in marketing, but it does have a tone of desperation, don't you think? I would probably leave that message out and try to come up with an offer that will make people want to buy something, rather than beg for your business and more or less not let them give it to you.

Re: Manizesto - Quote of the week: Foresight Edition -Small Business Marketing Blog.

Just testing this new comment system!
