I understand just about everything, but why doesn't count get reset to 0, every time an object is created? Is it because you can't declare the variable count twice, and so Java just ignores it? Then what if the code was:

    public static int count;
count = 0;

    public Thing() {
count++;
}

Would count be reset to zero before the constructor runs? Or are class variables set only once during a run of the app?

Thanks for these tutorials. I'm learning a lot.

Re: No lead story? A meaningful comment. That's a toughie. I suppose a definition of the word meaning is meaningful. "what is intended to be, or actually is, expressed or indicated; signification; import". I hope that contains enough meaning. I'd like to win, please.

Re: Portland Now Has a Live Twitter Feed for Arrested Suspects (mugshots included)

You're wrong
http://twitter.com/DentonPo...
Consider yourself corrected

Re: Twitter Is Frozen in Time

Mashable. Here are the details: http://www.flickr.com/photo...

But, if I'm not mistaken I had the camera set on auto. The only thing I did was manually focus on the spot I wanted sharp.

Thanks for stopping by.

Re: Closeup lens

Thanks for pointing that out. I used my 55-200 zoom on a tripod from about 5 feet away. I don't have a macro lens, and I don't think it would be a good idea in this situation since you'd have to get really close to the splash. That would mean water might splash up onto your lens.

I suppose you could arrange a setup where you'd be behind some kind of glass, but in my situation it wouldn't have worked.

PS: I'm a relative beginner photographer, so I wouldn't go asking me about lens advice. You're liable to get hurt.

Re: How to take spectacular water droplet/splash pictures

This is a test of the emergency commenting system.
