Your concerns are well-founded. But the majority of members of Congress are not multi-millionaires. They need their paychecks to pay the bills and if No Budget, No Pay becomes law -- they will put overwhelming pressure on their wealthy colleagues to pass a budget and the 12 appropriations bills on-time.

Sean -- the poll did not focus on No Labels supporters. Was a representative sample of the entire voting public -- to include Rs, Ds, & Is from across the country.

Hi Timmay -- you bring up a good point about campaign finance. However -- as you say -- it is difficult to address without getting into constitutional issues. And a key criteria for No Labels reform agenda, is that all the reforms be able to be implemented quickly. Constitutional amendments don't fit that bill.

That said, we think these rules changes are a first step toward making Congress work again. Additional reforms, can and should follow.

Hi Lynette -- terms limits are good idea -- however, they'd require a constitutional amendment to implement. A long and difficult process. One key criteria for No Labels proposed reforms -- is that they be quickly implementable. All of the reforms mentioned above -- fit that criteria.

Hi Sherry -- I think Dave's post is suggesting: 1) ending secret holds, 2) stopping the silent filibuster, and 3) returning the days when a Senator had to stand on the floor and filibuster in-person.

Kevin - I think the point of this reform is hold at least one meeting away from under the cameras. Transparency is vital to our democracy, but surely there has to be some space for private conversations. What do you think?

Hi Joseph -- thanks for the feedback. We combined two very different mediums for the town hall. A telephone town hall and a live video stream. To my knowledge -- something like has never been done before in politics.

The next time out, we'll definitely aim to make the poll questions available to the online audience too though.

What did you think of the message that No Labels and Howard Schultz was conveying though? Did it resonate with you? If you haven't yet -- be sure to sign-up for emails to keep in the loop for the next townhall in October.

hall meetings for the August recess. Whether or not Congressional staff
answered correctly or noted *all* the public town hall meetings being
held -- drove the results of the survey.

Suzanne -- No Labels only polled the House of Representatives as we found the Senate very unresponsive in providing any information about their town hall meeting schedules.
