All of them, everywhere. This is doable for a varity of reasons, drug-money laundering, financing of international terrorism, massive financial fraud. After that, demand that secret banking be no longer allowed, forever, everywhere.

it is a first step, but I believe it is the necessary first step that everything else depends on

Check out Occupy Portland Radio's (kboo.fm/occupyportland) series on money and the ICIJ's investigation into offshore banking. If you are living in the US, you probably haven't heard about this issue, but everywhere else in the world is going nuts!
icij.org/offshore

Seize the moment!

Seize the moeny!

Re: French ministers disclose personal wealth

there are no bigger issues at stake! The other issues are all created as a result of the gutting corruption that is running rampant worldwide. This is the tiniest tip of the iceberg. All over the world politicians are being outed as being corrupt. This secret banking network is only the first to be revealed of the many that force austerity, police violence, and wars down the throats of the people.. The political elites will be the ones to decide how much more blood they will have on their hands. The entire system is coming down around their ears. Time to see if they are smart enough to let it go and hope that the people of the world forgive them, after ensuring that they are no longer capable of this disgusting behavior

Re: Uncontacted Tribe Photographed in Brazilian Jungle

kind of looks like a metal pot in the foreground there

Re: Live blog 30/1 - Egypt protests

ps,
long live the brave people of Egypt. While these countries may not be invading others, they are certainly not behaving peacefully all the time. Indonesia- largest Muslim country in the world, in East Timor: India, huge muslim population, in Sri Lanka; Iraq and Iran, are these also not Muslim countries, and their wars with each other.
don't get me wrong, I am sympathetic to your side, in equal measure that I am sympathetic to "my" side of the equation (Muslim v. West), but when you start romanticizing Muslim love for peace, I am afraid that few are going to listen to anything else you want to say.

Re: Live blog 30/1 - Egypt protests

ahh, my friend, that is a good question. I propose that it has something to do with the fact that the Israeli people have yet to rise up against their government and be teargassed in response. As an added bonus, they're such little bitches that they've probably never ridden a bike among auto traffic, so they don't really know what they are talking about.

your car is the problem

Re: http://thedailywh.at/post/2367650226

it's your responsibility to protect your life as much as it is mine (because, even though I am operating one of the most deadly, irresponsible, costly, and downright stupid forms of transportation, I am bigger than you and therefor I win !!! You find it much more interesting, because it is fun, to live in a world where, as long as the lies serve your "interests" you have no problem with them. As long as the lies keep the gas flowing freely, and the cheap food available 24 hours a day, and the TV turned on, you don't care.
that is just really disappointing.
you can't handle the truth, so you just don't want to hear it.
shameful
i am not commenting on anonymous or their tactics, I am commenting on the delight taken in making fun of people who actually try to do something (as opposed to sitting back and watching Dancing with the Stars) when they aren't happy about the most serious issues. I don't really care too much about what is in the diplomatic cables. Nor do I care too much about anonymous and their activities. What I do care about is the underlying issue- whether or not I am being asked to believe a bunch of bull that is causing people to suffer in my name.

doesn't the fact that we are still spreading huge amounts of pain and death upon people who absolutely did not deserve it bother you?

that's what this is really all about, whether or not we are proud of how we spend our time and where we focus our energy. There are children without parents as a direct result of the abuse of your national power. that should make you sick to your stomach, shouldn't it?

when you simply dismiss people who are, at the very least, interested in holding their governments accountable, in the only way they see possible, you appear to be craven and spiteful. Just saying.

Re: Anonymous Operation of the Day: Operation Frozen Vengeance

wow,
that really hurts. This is not a big deal at all as it actually makes it HARDER for people to abuse coca. Try to extract concentrated caffeine from a bottle of Coke some time and you'll know what I mean.
Third, anyone who is putting a dent in Coke (or should I can the humor?) is doing alright by me.
Peace out chumps!

Re: BREAKING FROM NBC: White House official calls gays "Internet left fringe"

this guy is not from the white house. he is a correspondent. it is troubling that people are getting upset at the white house over the statements of a correspondent. that is very troubling.

Re: The Daily What

does it expand, ahem, up top as well? for the enlarging, er, top parts?

Re: The Daily What

they are saying "Oh, God." Look at the context, look at the meta-message. A Klan member and a dark skinned man are hot tubbing together. Maybe there is a chance for peace in this world! Please stop being patently offended and ask yourself what you are actually looking at. Ignorant is as ignorant does. Power (and common sense) to the people!

Re: Eric Holder, Ted Stevens, and Prosecutorial Misconduct that Doesn’t Make Headlines

OK, so let's sort this out:
Ted Stevens, older than dirt and quite possibly (anyone?) planning on leaving the senate anyway (one can only do so much damage before it starts to catch up with you), is faced with the fact that he is about to get justice for his past behavior. With the trend in the "Justice" Department over the past few years, is it irrational to think that, maybe, just maybe, prosecutors were instructed to behave badly enough that the following results?
a) Ted Stevens is eventually "cleared" of wrongdoing
b) Ted Stevens is left with the right to claim that he was the longest serving Senator
c) Ted Stevens is left with a Senate pension. What is a Senate pension worth after so many years
d) the federal government is left with egg on its face; egg that is broadly smeared enough that it is easy to ignore differentiation between the current 'feds' and the previous 'feds'
This is conspiratorial, I know, but guess what? The following were conspiracies as well:
Pearl Harbor
The Iran-Contra Affair
the assassination of Kennedy (presumably)
the Holocaust
the "Troubles"
and the list goes on and on
We have seen examples of federal prosecutorial misconduct over the past eight years that rivals that of any administration, ever. We have seen examples of political careers cut short by scandal. We have seen that the manipulation of the public is a subtle game.
Why should we believe that this is anything different? Manipulation of public opinion is the current political fad. Not convincing argument, not sound reasoning, not good-faith public debate. No, I am talking about crass manipulation.
Ted Stevens is ultimately redeemed. The federal government is ultimately shamed. Who benefits from this situation?
We are being played, here. It is time we started to take a meta-politics approach on these issues. Without such a stance, we are going to continue to fall victim to this again and again.
Gods help us!
