I do wonder how much utility simple rendering of PDF will deliver to enterprise-class document workflows where advanced features like security, data capture and client-side business logic are required. Also it will be interesting to see which version of PDF they support, especially with regard to any potential 3D support as tessellated data is part of the current ISO 32000:1 spec and B-Rep via PRC is part of the PDF-E variant working through ISO now and targeting full convergence with PDF ISO 32000:2. Perhaps Mozilla will implement more advanced 3D interaction modes in their browser based implementation than you get with the Adobe Reader, although it seems that level of sophistication may require quite an investment on their part.

Re: SolidWorks World 2011 (Day 1) – The Festivities Begin

Speaking of the Partner Pavillion you might find this interesting as it shows an interesting use of cloud rendering services. They are supposed to be showing this capability in their booth.

Bunkspeed Brings the Interactive 3D Photograph To The Cloud: http://yhoo.it/idqZv4

Re: Communitas

Hugo asked to read 'Cecily Cicada' yesterday and in the back, as you know, is a great pic of 2 year old Evie with a cicada.

Re: JMerryHaus - George Bush breaks silence with speech in Erie, PA...

Completely agree with your comments. He set the tone to 'way negative' early when his first directive increased the levels of arsenic allowed in drinking water. I notice a huge difference when I read the words versus listening to him speak. The Atlantic Monthly had an in depth article on his speaking style and performance in debates as governor of TX and then when he ran for president and found a very big change. It will be interesting to see how he tries to reinsert himself into the public domain now that he's out of office.

Re: JMerryHaus - Garbage Gets Fresh Look as Energy Source - WSJ.com

Kai Hagen called it right on today - calling garbage a renewable resource is Orwellian... He also pointed out the distinction between political and scientific acceptance of WTE approach. These guys are clearly going for political blessing for this approach. The were hoping to pull 40 and then it rained all day Sat and Sun AM, so they were ecstatic to pull 70+. I don't think the average voter has tuned in yet, so it's early. Jason seems to be building a solid organization.

Hugo and I were walking by City Hall and he asked if Mehta's daddy was going to work in that building. So he has mindshare in the 4 and under set!

Fingers are crossed!

Re: Hello From Livingstone

Glad to hear you are enjoying the relaxed pace of life in Africa. Really seems that a lot of people haven't recognized that we have an impending energy crisis and need to rethink things like transportation at a fundamental level.

Re: JMerryHaus - Adobe partnership makes Facebook's platform Flash-ier | The Social - CNET News

Aren't these comments really nice????

Re: Yelp and Small Business

Yelp sucks on a Blackberry. Really interesting reading through the comments on the post you link too and then several of the articles referenced at the bottom of it via links... Read More. Lot's of passion about the Flash platform, both for and against. The against camp seems to have two major issues: open-ness and resource consumption. The 'open' questions seems to be being resolved via the OpenScreenProject and the removal of licensing restrictions/requirements around the Flash platform and if you look a wee bit into the future by looking at blogs like the AppleInsider, the next generation of mobile phones are going to kick ass from a hardware config point of view. Apple may actually ship a QUAD CORE iPhone within a year. I don't think a device like that will have any problems running Flash Player 10 tuned for smartphones.

Re: Division in America

It seems like the GOP is breaking apart in a huge way and they are spiraling down and getting more and more negative. McCain's choice of Palin energized the far-right evangelicals but has alienated the independents and most likely the fiscal conservatives. I hope Obama wins with a nationwide landslide and finally forces the GOP to think long and hard about their platform and how much harm they've done to themselves by pandering to the religuous right

Re: Good LA Weekend

Really glad to hear you are starting to discover and enjoy some aspects of LA.
