So $500 a year on the low end in software for a $300 drone? I'll take my chances with Litchi. Don't get me wrong, the app looks super cool, but also, seriously? An enterprise app ported to a low end consumer drone would be a fun engineering project, but it still doesn't make any practical sense.

It's part of the game. If you want my sympathy, don't show me pictures of A-Rod. They should throw at him more, not less. Our society has seriously gone astray when people are more concerned with the temporary discomfort of multi-millionaire athletes and celebrities than with the $hit storm real people have to deal with on a daily basis.

Maybe the big leaguers should be hitting off a tee and the pro football players should be surrounded with a protective wall and a flack suit. Thank God you've the courage to take on the complex thorny issues facing humanity on the brink and aren't instead making pointless distinctions about trivialities.

The base salary at SPD (Seattle) is $90,000 a year plus pension and benefits (and lots of double-time overtime). Low pay? They make twice the median salary in Seattle. I've never understood this mis-perception. Have you ever looked at a cops wage scale? They are very well paid. They get paid nearly twice that of a teacher. I agree with what you said up until your 'get what you pay for' conclusion which I consider absurd given the realities of police pay.

Who is this guy and has he never heard of police unions? Prosecute them? Hell, you can't even fire them. If they're too dangerous for the street they get paid full salary with benefits and pensions to do NOTHING. These guys will never lose their jobs much less ever see the inside of a jail cell. It's the brotherhood.
