If you watch the video, the plane does indeed hop back into the air as you see a bunch of dirt flying. I thought maybe that was it hitting the seawall and causing it to launch into the air (like hitting a ramp). But the dolphins lifting it out of the water is much more likely explanation. Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Syrian's vision of love amid war goes viral

I have to be honest... We should really be comparing OS penetration and not just actual device types (as these numbers are comparing). This doesn't do a good job of explaining the whole picture.

Another point we tend to forget is that Apple has been able to do this on ONE US based carrier, whereas Android has been available to anyone who will shake a stick at it.

I think when the Verizon iPhone is available, we will start to see some wild shifts back to Apples camp.

Re: Red Foundry: Is this App development for the rest of us?

Red Foundry
Hey all, this is Jim Heising from Red Foundry. Before you write Red Foundry off as not being capable of building "real" apps you may want to actually take a look at what's possible with it. I'm extremely confident that you will change your mind.

Head to the app store and do a search for Red Foundry VIZ (or go to http://itunes.apple.com/us/.... Download and install for free on your iPhone or iPad. When it launches, where it says App Code, type in ENCHILADA and press the arrow button.

What you'll see from here is an app (rendered in real-time) that highlights the capabilities of the platform. For example, we've created a pixel-by-pixel recreation of the USA Today app with nothing more than our markup language, and it only took one of our designers less than a day to build the entire thing.

The thing is, we're not trying to put app devs out of business. We're simply giving them tools to make their lives easier, just like Photoshop or Dreamweaver would do for web designers. Whey spend time creating that perfect UIListView when you can build the entire thing and connect it up to a live datasource in just a matter of minutes? At the end of the day we want to allow devs to focus on making their apps look like a million bucks, rather than focusing on all the minutiae that goes along with building a traditional app.

Re: Red Foundry: Is this App development for the rest of us?

Explain further?

Re: Mobile Roadie And Sony Partner To Launch Mobile Apps For Music Artists

Michael,

I hope you're ready for a bit of friendly competition. Major issue with threading: It's not sorted by date unless you read it.

Example:

1) Someone important Emails you and for whatever reason you overlook the Email and don't read it. (BTW this happens a lot with people who get 1000+ emails a day like I do, or after a long trip away).

2) A few days later they Email you again saying "Hey I never heard from you, I need to hear back or else I'm going to take my business elsewhere."

By the time that second Email comes in it is completely buried by other messages because it is sorted by the date of the first Email. Threads should be sorted by the last date on which a message was posted to it regardless of whether or not it was read.

Google seems to think that everyone spends their entire day reading/archiving every Email, but when you are a heavy user it's just not possible and you have to go into "triage mode". Major issue that needs to be resolved.

Re: Mobile+Roadie+Goes+Pro%3B+Launches+New+Version+Of+Customizable+App%26nbsp%3BBuilder

I would take a look at Red Foundry (http://redfoundry.com).
