STOP!

Re: McCain or Obama : Grokable - Rob Howard CEO Telligent Personal Blog on Enterprise 2.0

...and in a conveniently timed follow-up, The Economist published its endorsement of Barack Obama today: http://tinyurl.com/5zo2nl

"...the Democratic candidate has clearly shown that he offers the better chance of restoring America’s self-confidence. But we acknowledge it is a gamble. Given Mr Obama’s inexperience, the lack of clarity about some of his beliefs and the prospect of a stridently Democratic Congress, voting for him is a risk. Yet it is one America should take, given the steep road ahead."

"Mr McCain has never been particularly interested in economics, but, unlike Mr Obama, he has made little effort to catch up or to bring in good advisers (Doug Holtz-Eakin being the impressive exception)."

"Had [John McCain] become president in 2000 instead of Mr Bush, the world might have had fewer problems. But this time it is beset by problems, and Mr McCain has not proved that he knows how to deal with them."

"...this cannot be another election where the choice is based merely on fear. In terms of painting a brighter future for America and the world, Mr Obama has produced the more compelling and detailed portrait. He has campaigned with more style, intelligence and discipline than his opponent. Whether he can fulfil his immense potential remains to be seen. But Mr Obama deserves the presidency."

Re: McCain or Obama : Grokable - Rob Howard CEO Telligent Personal Blog on Enterprise 2.0

Rob,
You might find this survey of economists published in The Economist a couple weeks interesting: http://tinyurl.com/55fkck (detailed survey results: http://tinyurl.com/6gh7hu)

While the results don't necessarily directly address your concerns on tax policy, they do address access to credit (though again indirectly in the form of how the candidates will "address the housing and financial crisis" and "boost long-term economic growth") health care costs and globalization/free trade. These economists by and large favor Senator Obama's economic plans (with the notable exception of free trade) and, perhaps most importantly, the likelihood that he would bring a stronger team of advisors into his administration than Senator McCain.

This is only one compilation of data points (and not a terribly large one with only 142 survey respondents) but it does give you some interesting insight into how a group of experts view the two candidates.

Re: Facebook’s (lack of a) Business Plan : Simpable

Until then, the underpants gnomes have created a template for Facebook and other Web2.0 ventures that haven't quite figured out the whole monetizing thing...

Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: PROFIT!!!

Re: Supercharge Remember The Milk: 6 Ways to Add a Task

A couple other options:

iGoogle gadget - http://tinyurl.com/3an874
In some ways, I like the add task interface better on the gadget

RTM Tool for Windows - http://tinyurl.com/5ntukr
Freeware.
